July 8, 2025 - Yeah, I figured Part 3 was kinda inevitable once they went with part 2. It's a bit neater, title-wise, though it raises the amusing idea of someone adapting God-Emperor (if this does incorporate part of Children) and calling it ... I would LOVE to see adaptations of God Emperor and Chapterhouse, maybe someday.. ... I'm gonna be so obnoxious once the trilogy is out on Blu-ray. So many friends made me watch LoTR and I'm gonna do the same thing to them with Dune.

October 9, 2023 - Celtic style music has got spirit like no other and I love the contrast from the middle eastern music in trailer 2 with the shots about the fremen and now this music in trailer 3 with focus on the legacy of the Atreides family. ... the theme is largely based on the (unused for part 1) vocal intro and outro melody to 'House Atreides' from the Sketchbook ... Man, the shot with the three sandstorms gave me chills! ... Paul using the voice on all those Bennies got me hyped the fuck up. This is an IMAX must for me. ... Since Interstellar Dune was exactly IMAX experience you needed.

August 6, 2022 - As much as I’d love to see Kyle in that role, Paul is 43 years old in children of dune. Kyle is 64 currently and we’re probably at least 5 more years out from seeing a children movie or series of it happens. I think aged up Tim is the way they’ll go with that. ... Denis has said he wants to wait for part 3 for a few years to let the actors age up naturally.

r/dune on Reddit: Dune Part Three vs Dune Messiah?
July 28, 2024 -

What do you think the third film by Denis Villeneuve should be called? Right now I’m seeing people making arguments for both titles. Dune Messiah is obviously a great choice because that’s the name of the book it will be based on, and it does sound cool. But it might look disjointed to fans of the films who don’t necessarily know about the books:

Dune Part One, Dune Part Two, Dune Messiah.

On the other hand, Dune Part Three also makes sense because it would make the trilogy have nice clean titles:

Dune Part One, Dune Part Two, Dune Part Three.

What do you think the producers and Villeneuve are going to end up naming the third film?

I haven’t read the books at all so just interested in what the main events/plot points/popular things among the books may happen in Dune 3?

I’ve seen the original film so know roughly what would happen in Dune 2, but obviously they basically end the same

I don’t care about potential spoilers but please spoiler check everything necessary for others!

I'm Personally escited for Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, she'll be great in the role. ... This is going to be amazing. Part one was one of the best imax experiences, this seems even better!!

October 18, 2024 - I'm just slightly afraid that the messaging won't match the film... the marketing, trailers and interviews need to paint Paul and his war in a sour light because anyone going into the film with a fresh House Atriedes tattoo is going to feel like those people who named their kids Denarys before Game of Thrones finished. ... I believe that according to the article, that is why Villeneuve argues for a significantly more creative interpretation of Dune Messiah: He thinks Children of Dune and the other sequels can not be made into a movie.

July 8, 2025 - Dune 2 ends with Zendaya fucking off and all the major houses in open rebellion against Paul. The novel had Chani firmly loyal to Paul at the end and she started as his defacto wife, while Paul consolidated all of his power the day the emperor stepped down. ... Paul does say that Chani forgives him based on his visions of the future, so she's likely back by the beginning of part 3 or comes back during it.

I am spending the day watching the Lynch film (which I have always liked) and the Sci Fi miniseries before Dune (2021) premiers on HBO at 6:00 PM EST tonight. Since the worldwide box office is doing relatively well the chances of a part 2 are getting better. I am hoping that Denis Villeneuve is already planning a third film based on Dune Messiah. What scenes and themes would you like to see on screen from that book?

I always found this bizarre, and it seems like more of a failing on Hebert’s part than the audience. Paul is pretty clearly characterized as a tragic hero in Dune, so it’s not surprising that audiences came to that conclusion.

August 23, 2024 -

A bit of a spoiler for those who have not read the books but in the next book Paul has already won the holy war ( in some sense) and is now dealing with assassination coups and his own guilt. This alone could make for a great movie, but I think maybe Dennis could go for something a bit more ambitious.

How about the movie splinters between few scenes of Paul during the holy war and then (the largest portion of the film) Paul after. The scenes of Paul during the holy war would have to be pretty much all new scenes which were not in the book And they would showcase the development of his empire, his growth, and his continuous sense of regret, as well a showcasing different planets and offering exciting and cinematic action sequences. The scenes of Paul after the holy war will have an internally defeated Paul atreides reflecting on what he has done.

This juxtaposition could serve to showcase the dynamic of how as his empire grew, his soul fell.

Am I unto anything or is this just straight gibberish?

January 25, 2022 - Like 1) write an actual romance being Paul and Chani, instead of just a time cut and she’s pregnant, 2) give Lady Jessica an actual role and less hocus-pocus gobbledygook, 3) give the Emperor a bigger role and 4) make the climactic battle an actual challenge. ... The trailer makes it seem more than a bit YA. I hope that doesn't drive off people thinking its another of the endless YA adaptions. I mean tbh this might bomb but I’m glad it exists & part one won’t remain unfinished (& it looks really good)
