How warm is this duvet insert and when should I use it?
What materials are used to make this duvet insert?
What finishes are used on your duvet inserts?
Would you still size up to a King (say 108" x 92") comforter to put inside a Queen duvet cover (90" x 90") if the comforter you are buying is silk or one of the lightweight, "cooling" style comforters - like Sijo or Evercool/Rest - that are all the rage right now for hot sleepers (and obviously more... slippery to the touch)?

I know from experience this trick is fantastic for a down duvet with a cotton cover, but will it still work for those thinner, more slick fabrics or should I just buy the Queen insert for my Queen duvet covers? I do want a more plush look to the bed but not at the risk of the comforter all sliding and pooling to one end of the bed. Tying at the corners can only do so much. TIA, experts!!
Hi,
I am looking for the ideal duvet insert, which for me would mean both fluffy yet cool, as I sleep rather hot. I have tried several ones, but never found the one...any recommendation ? which kind of material should I look for ? I have tried the following :
- 100% Silk duvet (Ikea) : good temperature-wise, but it's very thin and doesn't have any of that fluffyness / volume which I like.
- 4-season duvet made out of 50% polyester microfibre, 25% duck down and 25% duck feathers : super fluffy and comfortable, unfortunately too hot, I end up waking up sweating...
- Cotton weighted blanket : tried it for a while, but didn't like it too much, it doesn't have the fluffy feeling and was also keeping me too hot.
I know I sound difficult. But is there perhaps anything else a solution I haven't considered yet ? Do they make fluffy silk duvets (I didn't find any) ? I assume that a 100% down/feather duvet is gonna be just as hot than the one I have ?
Thanks !
