This is my first time getting into more enterprise hardware. I got a, Supermicro H11SSL-i with an Epyc 7702 combo from ebay. along with A-Tech 128GB 4x 32GB DDR4 2133 MHz ECC LRDIMM Cooler Master MWE Gold 1050 PSU I can’t get past the DXE–CPU initialization with code 63 I can get into BMC the Firmware Revision is 01.52.00 and the bios version is 2.1 I’ve tried only using one stick placing it where it says in the manual. tried all of the 4 of my sticks (32gb 2133 MHz ECC LRDIMM DDR4) cleared the CMOS reseated the CPU all the fans spin up fine when it starts. sometime i get a DXE–USB initialization with code 62 i’ve unplugged and plugged in the PSU Any Sugestions would be appreciated
Hello guys,
So i decided to try building my first gaming PC with the following components:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6x 3.90GHz - Asus ROG Strix B550-E Gaming Motherboard Socket AM4; - ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3060 Ti V2 OC; - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz - SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus
So far, it was actually really fun to progress with the setup of all components etc.
However, as I try now to power on my computer, I don't get any screen on my monitor. I've got the error "pch dxe initialization is started" via my MB number screen.
I've reviewed various posts now and some things: starting without GPU, changed both RAM and slots and also tried them separately). I also think, that my MB does support the required bios for CPU. Nevertheless, i could not even try to update bios, since I don't get any display on my monitor screen.
As i don't get anything displayed on my monitor with and without my GPU and by ruling out the possibilities described, I would guess that my CPU might be damaged?
Maybe you guys have some ideas. I would bring my computer to a service shop if nothing will help. However, I would appreciate your help in any case.
Best
Just connected 2 SSD today and removed them after boot issues. Now I can not boot my server. Anyone have this issue? MBD X11SCA-F-O I9-9900 32GB ..
Hello,
My computer was totally fine yesterday, except a small problem with an ethernet pilote that I fixed with a restart.
However this morning the computer is not even booting.
It's an old one with
i7 4790K
Gigabyte GTX970
2*4 Go Ram
I tried to remove the graphic card as the VGA led is advising, but it's not working with a HDMI on my motherboard. I also removed my Cmos battery cause I think it is dead (my bios was returning to default after a power failure in my appartment)
I also removed one RAM and all by HDD/SSD but it still not work ...
Can you help ?
Thank you !
Edit : The turn on button is also not working after I removed the power supply, I need a CMOS reset. It might be due to the missing battery
Where to begin… I guess a little back story would help.
This build of mine was made back in 2014 and has lasted me until now. The last thing was in the beginning of last year upgrading my GPU and it’s been working fine. Never had an issue like this before and it was running smoothly until one day recently it just… won’t… post. Everything turns on (as in the cooler, case fans, gpu and hdd, ect) EXCEPT the monitor. Mind you the monitor does receive power and connected to the computer.
I guess now is a good time as ever to give my pc specs:
Mobo: Asus Z97 Pro Wifi AC CPU: Intel i7 4770K RAM: 4x Corsair Vengeance (32 GB) PSU: Corsair AX760i GPU: AORUS GeForce RTX™ 2060 XTREME 6G (rev. 2.0)
Now that that’s out of the way, I look at my motherboard and see that the q-code says 63 which in the manual book says it means: CPU DXE Initialization is started and the light that always stays on is the VGA led.
I search everywhere on google and even here on reddit and I’ve tried several different approaches for instance:
-
Disconnecting GPU and use the onboard DisplayPort. (Did not work)
-
Changing the DisplayPort cable. (Did not work)
-
Booting with one stick of RAM. (Did not work)
-
Booting with one stick of RAM and testing it in all slots. (Did not work)
-
Booting with 2 sticks of RAM (in Dual Channel mode). (Did not work)
-
Tried bios flashback. (Did not work)
-
Tried using another set of known-working RAM (Did not work)
-
Tried Clearing CMOS by jumper (Did not work)
-
Tried Clearing CMOS by removing battery (Did not work)
-
Tried removing motherboard from case and powering it up outside of the case. (Did not work)
I don’t have another motherboard to rule out the CPU or another CPU to rule out the motherboard.
I’ve been attempting this repair for about a month now. I have a video that shows what always happens when I turn on the computer.
Any ideas what it could be? Any help is appreciated.
CPU: Intel Core i7 4820K
Motherboard: Asus Rampge IV Black Edition
GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 980-Ti OC
RAM: G.skill Ripjaws 6x4GB
The problem started right after the Windows 10 April 2018 update installed on my computer (don´t know if thatś a coincidence). Today the computer showed q-code error 34, which means it was unable to enter BIOS. I tried the BIOS switch on my motherboard, which had no effect. I then did a BIOS flash through a USB and the ROG connect feature on the motherboard to externally update the bios, which I assume was successful. When I tried to start it again, it went to q-code error 70: PCH DXE initialization is started. Now it just sticks to the Republic of Gamers screen which says: Press DEL or F2 to enter BIOS. Except my inputs don´t work and the BIOS switch doesn´t either. Please help.
Edit: I got it working by following u/rtey31 's advice and taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in. Hopefully my computer will stay working.
