My friend just gifted me a DynaGlo compact signature grill/smoker. Im excited to finally get into charcoal grilling and smoking! Was wondering if I really need the offset firebox, or if I can get some good results as is?
It can be done. Just set your fire on the far side from the stack.
More on reddit.comDoes anyone have a review of Dyna-Glo grills? They seem to pack a lot of features. Specifically the adjustability of the coals.
Anyone have experience with the dyna-glo signature series?

Hey all,
Long time griller, and its one of my favorite things. My wife and I just bought our first house and I finally have a grill area. I mainly use a propane grill for quick dinner, burgers and chicken and whatnot. But now that I've got this grill, I am excited to spend my weekends grilling and smoking meat! I am a total noob to charcoal and smoking, and I noticed that a lot of smokers have the offset firebox for continuous smoke and heat. I am thinking that as it is, I will definitely be able to grill on it, but if I'm doing a 6-8 hour brisket or something, it looks like it might be more challenging to manage the heat and smoke levels without an offset firebox.
What do you guys think? The offset firebox also serves as a mini BBQ and its almost as expensive as the main grill lol. Just want to know if I will be able to still get my smoke on with the grill as I have it, without the offset.
Thanks!

It really depends on how much food you need to cook. If you can set the fire all the way to the right and there is enough room to indirectly BBQ all the food then that’s all you need. I have been using a similar grill for 6 years without the firebox. I’d recommend getting a heat shield and placing it vertically to the left of the fire so the food closest doesn’t cook too fast, otherwise you may have to move it around a bunch throughout the cook.
This is the grill im looking at specifically: grill
I'm not interested in purchasing a second Weber... I know everyone loves them here.
Hello r/smoking, long time lurker and still a beginner smoker here!
I'm planning to get a charcoal smoker with a fairly decent capacity soon that won't cost me too much (that means no WSM). I've come across this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WGZ9Z5T and was wondering if anyone has any feedback or advice?
