I don’t recommend a Cinetic Dyson at all. They do not have a pre-motor filter, just many cyclones. Their cyclones are good, just not quite that effective. They come in for service at even just a year old with fried motors all the time. For example, the fine dirt sometimes jams the brushes and ruins the motor. They are annoying to repair as well. On top of that, it features other notorious breaking points that they never fixed. For example, their cleaner heads are known for getting hair wrapped in themselves and destroying themselves, yet they have failed to fix it for years. No matter the type, unfortunately, a Dyson would definitely not last like your Phillips model. Back in the days of the DC07 and even to the DC33, they would, but they are all marketing hype now. June 18, 2023Why is my 2019 Dyson ball multi floor 2 making this sound?
Details: Dyson ball multifloor 2 has been making this sound after turning it on, usually within 1-5 seconds of being on. It’s making a sound like a partial blockage, sometimes like an elephant or trumpet. Suction is reduced. I’ve checked all the places I could find for blockages, cleared out the brush part, and emptied the canister. I’ve had other vacuums do this and I can’t figure it out. Other than needing to wash the filters, I have no clue what is wrong.

I really liked the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor 2 vacuum cleaner. But there are several problems that stop me from buying.
Filters. Replacing the filters costs $35 for the pre-motor and $65 for the post-motor. Dyson claims that during the life of the vacuum cleaner (it seems they decided that it is 7 years) you will not need to change filters.
Is it so? If these filters need to be changed every 5-7 years, then this is acceptable. But I doubt it.
2. Build quality. My 15-year-old Philips vacuum cleaner seems to last forever. However, the entire Internet is full of stories with broken Dyson. The problem is aggravated by the fact that Dyson is a complex mechanism, and it is not clear what to do if the suction power is lost.

The premotor should last several years and perhaps the life of the vacuum but the post motor Hepa filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. Edit: the UK models might be different but the US Cinetic has no pre-motor filter, and is a not as effective as other Dyson designs. The Cinetic will wear out it’s post motor filters even faster. I’d advise against the Dyson. Corded Dysons seem to be of average reliability, their major demerits are the bagless maintenance and they’re more expensive than other bagless vacuums. If you provide a budget, flooring info, and location (the link was for UK), and important features, I could recommend some machines.
