I have both. To be honest, I hardly use my dyson hair-dryer at all. I use the drying tool on my airwrap and if not curling, I just use the smoothing brush and dry it instead of previously i would have used the supersonic and a round brush. The hair dryer attachment on the airwrap is really quick drying on my fine long hair. The supersonic is great and the smoothing tool really works to smooth my hair before I had the airwrap. Hi There, I’ve been going back and forth between the two. I’m 60 years old with minimal styling expertise, my hair is very fine, after reading the reviews I’m worried the air wrap may be out of my league, originally I just wanted the dryer but my searches also came up with the airwrap, how does the drying feature work on the airwrap compared to hair dryer. Looking for best bang for my buck and suggestions.

I have both and basically stopped using the hairdryer once I got the airwrap. Truthfully the hairdryer is probably a little more powerful but I think the airwrap one is really good as well, and some of the attachment like the smoothing brush aren’t difficult to use at all.

I’ve had my eye on it for a while along with the shark version, but I wanted to know if it was worth it to splurge or if I should go for a cheaper alternative instead. I want something that makes my doing my hair quick and simple, and the minimal heat damage is a massive plus. I have medium length hair that I’m growing out and it’s straight/wavy in texture if that affects any opinions, thanks!

My mother got my sister the air wrap for christmas last year and got me the dyson blow dryer instead. I will say... that blowdryer is FANTASTIC, it cut my drying time in half as someone with a lot of hair. My sister doesn't use her air wrap nearly as much as I use my hair dryer, and I believe there's even an air wrap like attachment for the dryer as well! Totally the better option in my opinion if you really want a dyson styling tool :)

Hi and thanks for any help you can offer me!
My husband gave me a Dyson Airwrap for my birthday (!!). On the same day, my black Friday purchase of my Bioionic (Smart-X High Efficiency) hairdryer came. I haven't used it, and it's hard to justify keeping it now that I have the Airwrap. It was a great deal, usually $329, but I got it for $197. Is there any reason I SHOULDN'T return the BioIonic hairdryer? Does the Dyson Airwrap do it all?

It depends on your goals. I haven't used my regular hair dryer since I got my airwrap a few years ago but if you're not using the brush/barrel attachments you're probably not gonna be fully drying your head with the coanda attachment. It's really just for rough dry. If I'm not styling my hair (I usually don't tbh) I'm happy with rough drying my roots and letting the rest air dry and the airwrap is perfect for that. If I need it to be fully dry quickly though I'd want a regular hairdryer on hand.
