Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Dyson prides itself on its technological advances and safety of customers. Like most technology companies, Dyson sources the materials for its machines from several suppliers. Dyson recently learned that a supplier utilizes at least one of the chemicals identified under Prop 65. As such, it is Dyson's responsibility to inform customers of the existence of this chemical in some of our machines.   While Dyson cannot speak to the effects of the chemicals identified under Prop 65, Dyson has no evidence of a link between the use of a Dyson machine and cancer or any other illness. Please know that the existence of a chemical in a product does not mean the product, when used as directed, is harmful. r/Hair on Reddit: Dyson supersonic cancer warning
December 22, 2020 -

Hi,

While looking at some reviews online I read somewhere that the Dyson Supersonic comes with a Prop 65 cancer warning in America. (It’s not there on the packaging in my country.)Is this something to be concerned about or normal for all hair dryers? Any suggestions?

I was informed today by a cancer survivor who was advised that using a blow dryer is toxic and causes cancer. Is this true? If so, why? - Quora
Answer (1 of 22): It’s bullshit. Let’s think for a minute, yes? The blow dryer contains two basic elements. A heater and a motor. Do you cook? Yes? Heat your home? Hot water? All use heating. Some use gas, some use electric. But what is an electric heater?

r/dyson on Reddit: Dyson Supersonic hairdryer triggers our HEPA air purifier to go crazy
May 6, 2021 -

So, my partner loves her Dyson Supersonic hairdryer. However, whenever she is finished drying her hair the HEPA air purifier immediately turns red (air quality) and now sounds like it is taking off into space (overdrive). It lasts for at least 10 minutes before it calms down. Out of curiosity has this happened to anyone else? Is it the hairdryer or something else at play? Her older hair dryer does not cause this behavior so we are pretty sure it's the Dyson. Is this something worth calling customer support with Dyson about?

Didn't really know where to ask this but I want someones opinion. I'd been meaning to look into this thing for a while and finally did, only to see the controversy about the cancer warning. What part of the dryer is the problem? And does it amount to more risk than any other dryer?
