Is there a difference? its on sale on dyson website, one is 449, other 569...
I own a hair salon in Miami Florida and we bought the Dyson R right when it launched in the USA. We bought only 1 to make sure we like it before we buy 10 makes sense right? Anyway we have a couple of the Dyson Pro hair dryers the silver ones with the longer cord and it has been for the most part a good tool for us so we figured the Dyson R will be way better.
The first 2 weeks of owning it the hair dryer was great! It’s super light and decently powerful (not as powerful or hot like our paralux) and it’s super quiet! Using it all day long helps with shoulder aches and that’s huge of course! After 2 weeks the hair dryer started blinking asking us to clean the filter and that’s fine we did that by following the video on dysons website. Dyson recommends cleaning the filter once per month yet our filter asked to be cleaned in 2 weeks.
Anyways! When the filter light comes on you have no choice but to clean the filter the hair dryer WILL NOT WORK unless the computer feels the filter is clean enough. Mind you we have air filters all over our salon Dyson air purifiers that filter formaldehyde and air in general and those tell us the air quality is good.
We do our first cleaning and a few days go by we get another filter cleaning light! We clean the filter again and same thing happens a few days later. Now these filters look brand new because they are but for some reason the computer/sensor inside the dryer thinks the filter is clogged.
Now I wish I could just go to dysons website and buy their overpriced filters but they have been out of stock for months now. So now I have a $500 paperweight laying around of no use to me. When I ask Dyson about it they give me the run around “are you sure sure you cleaned the filter good?” Dyson as a company has gone down hill significantly! I am shocked that a high end brand can fall to such low levels and provide absolutely NOOOO support?! Now guys we are extremely busy individuals we have busy days and we have no time for these games and neither do our clients. I highly recommend that nobody guys these hair dryers. There are many true professional options out there and I mentioned paralux which has never ever failed us. There is too much tech in these hair dryers which make them unusable!
