I do not think the V8 is worth even the discounted price. Had one and sold it. Got a Samsung Jet 90 and it works waaay better. Much longer battery life and so much better suction. The absolute includes more tools, namely the soft roller. Since you seem to have limited hard floors, the motor head is most likely fine.

I only really have a few rooms in my house that are carpet and need cleaned. I paid $300 or so for it. It’s great but the “max” mode barely lasts to clean my few rooms. I couldn’t believe how much dust and hair and crap it sucked up though! Wow. Are there better vacuums for smaller areas that I can get for the same , or a cheaper, price? I just want something small , cordless, and easy to use so it’s not a “chore” to vacuum.

Dyson is over priced and over hyped poor quality. You're paying for the name and poor engineering. I bought a Miele C3 complete and haven't regretted it once in the year I've owned it super quiet and high powered and a way better warranty than a Dyson

Cordless is not the way to go imo. You need a good primary vacuum (corded/bagged) for weekly deep cleans. Then a stick for quick daily messes. Take a look around the sub. Dyson is generally hated for being very poor quality lately.
