She makes amazing chicken parm, so she made a massive batch and portioned it into disposable pans with enough for each family she was gifting them to. Then she froze them and gave them with a box of pasta so that each recipient had a “fast food” dinner they could make one night. Answer from Effective_Cable6547 on reddit.com

r/homemaking on Reddit: What are your favorite homemade Christmas gifts?
September 15, 2024 -
Hey all! Last year I posted a similar thread and a lot of folks found it super beneficial (and I know I did!) but wanted it a little earlier to help prepare. I’m due with my 2nd baby in February (I’m a SAHM) so my often homemade just-because gifts for friends and family are going to take a bit of a nosedive for awhile so I really want to go all out for the holidays!
What are your favorite homemade Christmas gifts to give out to friends, family, neighbors, etc.?!

Congrats on baby #2! And props for even attempting homemade gifts while pregnant, you're ambitious. The thing that's gotten the best reactions for me is homemade vanilla extract. Sounds fancy but it's literally just vanilla beans and vodka in a nice bottle. You do have to start it a few months ahead though so the timing might work perfectly for you, start it now and it'll be ready by Christmas . I do little 4oz bottles with a handwritten label and people act like I gave them liquid gold. It's stupid easy and looks impressive for valentines day gift . Sugar scrubs are another one that takes like 10 minutes and people love. Just sugar, coconut oil, and whatever essential oil smells good. Put it in a mason jar with some twine and a little tag. I usually do a peppermint one for Christmas. Same energy and very little effort but it feels personal and homemade great gift for women , girl friend or teen girls . For neighbors and acquaintances I usually do cookie mixes in jars. Layer the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, chocolate chips, etc) so it looks pretty, attach a tag with the wet ingredients and instructions, done. You can assemble a ton of these in one afternoon while watching TV. Hot cocoa kits are great too, especially if you have kids who want to help. Little bags or jars with cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint, maybe a candy cane tied on the side. Throw it in a mug from the dollar store if you want to make it more of a "gift." Target usually has cute mugs in their dollar section around the holidays. This is my go to for teachers and daycare workers because you can make a bunch without breaking the bank. Infused honey is one I started doing recently, just warm honey with stuff like lavender, cinnamon, or orange peel and let it sit. Put it in a little jar. People go crazy for it especially if they're into tea. Hot pepper honey is also really popular right now as a gift for him if you know anyone who likes spicy stuff. And again, it's one of those things that looks way more complicated than it actually is. What's your usual to to? Curious what worked well for you last year!

So, here's some gifts "normal" people might enjoy from a permie (according to my calculations), though this is just current brain-storming: Adults: -herbal balms made with home-grown herbs and natural oils, placed in a re-usable glass jar. -Liqueurs: surprisingly easy to make from sugar and hard alcohol plus garden produce.
