I bought something expensive from an eBay auction that was authenticated.
FedEx said that the item was delivered, when I did not receive it, and the photo proof was to a house that was at my house.
I filed that the package was lost, and I received a refund from eBay for the amount. This being of course their one time theft of package refund.
Several days after I receive a refund, FedEx found my lost package and delivered it.
Now I have the package, and the refund, and I want to pay eBay the amount that would be due. The amount wouldn’t go to the seller because they’ve been paid, it’s eBay that lost the money.
I’m trying to do the right thing because I am not a thief, and it was a large amount of money, and I bought it of my own free will so I want to pay for it
I have sent an email through the item portal twice, and an email through the refund email chain, and nobody’s got back to me.
Just to do my due diligence, how do I send an email to eBay that somebody will actually read?
The amount question is $500
Does eBay have email support? Done with trying on live chat & sitting on the phone for 1 hour just to get it ended within 10 minutes of talking to someone.
also,
if i request too talk to someone higher up will they let me?
It's a job just to delete them. I don't sell I only buy, sometimes up to 10 items per day, It madness when you get an email saying 1) You've won the item, 2) Seller has dispatched 3) Seller has added tracking info 4) Item due for delivery 5) Item delivered etc etc - if you don't look at your email for a few days then you've got over a hundred emails, and you have to check each one and delete , theres nothing in Communication Preferences to turn off and anyway have unchecked every single option. Are these really necessary and why can't you turn them off ?
I don't want to mark as spam because then all eBay emails will get put into spam and I'll probably miss some important ones.
It's just one more thing in the list of things Ebay does that annoying the customer, like 50 adverts per page just so they can make 2 cents extra or those awful pop ups when you view an item.
anyone got any ideas other than "Close Account" !
Is this a new change with eBay? I had an issue that I needed help with and for some reason now the only option I am able to get for support is to email them. I used to have an option for them to call me or to live chat with someone for help but now it only give me email. Has my account been flagged to not receive phone or chat support or something or is this the new normal going forward?
I have been trying to reach customer service all weekend. The automated assistant only offers me sending an email for contacting an agent. Chat and calls are not available. Is anyone else having the same experience.
Before it was possible to get a buyers email address from eBay by going into-
Seller Hub > Orders > find the order > use the dropdown menu next to the order > 'print postage labels or invoices' > 'invoice for your own records' > buyer's details were at top left.
However eBay have literally just made a change where the "print postage labels or invoices" has been changed to "print packing slip and more".
Now when I try to get the email address it's just the long eBay generated one that prints out. Is there some other way to get a buyers email address from eBay.
I have tried searching via the app but I can’t seem to find the specific section to turn off email notifications for messages from eBay sellers/buyers.
My inbox is becoming full of eBay member messages.
I've been experiencing some trouble with a seller from ebay and I would like to contact customer service. On their website, there is only an automated assistant, which is unhelpful, so I was wondering if there's any email address, where I would be able to send them a description of my problem. I read that contacting them via fb is possible, but I dont have an account. I tried to ask a friend to post on ebay fb profile, but it seems that not everyone can post...
Would really appreciate any help.
Hello,
being abroad calling the service hotline of ebay would end to be pretty expensive. Is there a way to open a ticket as a seller by e-mail?
A family member of mine got an email by collections . us @ noreply . ebay . comis this a real Ebay email or is it fake?
I am trying to access my ebay account, its been 6 months of trying to gain access to my account. maybe I need to email them instead of their phone number, does anyone know their customer service email? The phone rep person always tells me It is deactivated, but i still receive billing emails, and the account is active though I am not allowed to access it. Thanks for any help! And before you ask I have tried creating other accounts and they all get denied.
I’ve tried everything, I’ve changed all my contact preferences and switched off all of the contact options so I shouldn’t be receiving emails for anything, but yet I’m still receiving emails for EVERYTHING. Like 100+ emails a day. It crams up my inbox and I can’t actually see if there’s anything important in there. It’s seriously ridiculous, like why do I need an email to tell me I’ve looked at an item, made an offer on said item, the offer on said item has been confirmed, the offer on said item is waiting response. Yes I’m quite aware I don’t need 5 emails reminding me. Seriously how on earth can I get rid of this lol.
Is there an email I can contact eBay about a non-urgent matter?
(I’m using stealth under my friends account and can not verify his info if I call in and they ask)
I have sold a number of items in the past 12 hours and have not gotten the usual accompanying email. In fact, I only got a notification on my phone for one of the items.
Then just now I printed labels and again, no email. Very strange.
Before anyone suggests checking my Spam or Trash folders (Google been bad with the latter), I did, not there.
Had shipped the wrong item but now I don’t know how to send or email them a label file. What can I do ? They are asking to email it since a photo doesn’t work
When I buy something on ebay, can the seller I buy from see my email address I use for my account or is it hidden from them? I've googled and I can't seem to find a firm up to date yes or no.
I ask because I signed up with an email I protect very well and after 9 years still don't get any spam. I don't want to have to worry about buying from some seller and they end up selling my email to some list.
I asked the buyer for their personal email. So the buyer sent me their email but the email was censored by eBay. It literally just looks like "***************" in the message. And when I try to send the buyer my email, it censors it as well. Is there another way to obtain a buyer's email?
I just found seller can still see buyer's email address by archiving orders from the orders tab. Then enter Archived to see buyer's username/email. It seems email address is viewable only for 45 days after the transaction date.
I'm blown away by how many buyers set up an account on eBay and either don't put correct addresses and contact info, or don't check emails, spam folders, or eBay messages. I have people routinely set up a new account to buy from me, buy something for $2500 that needs to be freighted to a business address etc, and don't answer any of my messages.
I had a guy buy something off me a month ago. $1700 bucks. Tried contacting him via eBay messages to set up shipping. He has two residential addresses crammed into his contact info. His phone number is not only a bad area code, but a wrong number altogether. Doesn't answer messages. Found him on FACEBOOK, sent a message. Nothing. So I decided to wait it out to see if he calls eBay at least. Almost a month later, today, I get a chargeback from his credit card company. Here's your money back, moron. I've had people totally disregard everything in my listing info and buy a massive part off ebay, shipping to third floor apartment in San Jose, and then just wait and ignore messages from me. Uhh so you thought there'd be a knock at your door in a couple of days and a semi truck in the street, driver asking you where you wanted the printing press you ordered? Why are people like this?
I see that eBay provides a buyer's email address in the sales record, and I was wondering what their policy was concerning contacting buyers outside of eBay.
When I send notices to my buyers about a transaction, I always use the internal eBay messaging system. But once the transaction is complete, are we allowed to contact those buyers directly via email in order to promote our standalone stores? If not, why would eBay make the buyers' email addresses available in the first place?
I tried to find information about this on eBay's help system, and they do state that it is against policy to contact a buyer to arrange an off-eBay transaction. But that could be for pending transactions only... like "hey, buy this directly from my store instead of on eBay and I'll cut you a deal" type of scenarios. That's not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about furthering a relationship with a buyer once the eBay transaction has been completed.
So does anyone use email to communicate with their buyers directly?
The policy says that "Offers to buy or sell items outside of eBay" is not allowed. That, to me, says just don't do it.
As a buyer, I will tell you that, not only is it against Ebay's policies (spam) but it is kind of creepy.
When I buy from Ebay, I know that you're getting my personal information, and I trusting you to only use it to claim your payment and get my order to me safely. Getting an unsolicited email on my personal email account is not ok.
