The sellers "does not accept returns" policy only applies to buyers remorse. It doesn't mean squat when it comes to getting something that wasnt as it was described. As long as you file a return case specifically with the reason "item not as described", then you'll get your money back one way or another. The seller has 4 days to respond to the case either by selecting "issue return label" or "refund". If they do neither and just don't respond then after 4 days you can go back to the case and there should be an option to "ask ebay to step in". Once ebay has to step in, in these cases they'll generally just refund you (out of the sellers money) and tell you to keep the item since the seller refused to issue a return label. Seller will also then get a defect on their account for an unresolved "item not as described" case which will increase their seller fees. Answer from UnknownLinux on reddit.com

Return an item for a refund | eBay
If the returned item is used, damaged, missing parts, or is damaged during return shipping because it wasn't packaged correctly, some sellers might deduct from your refund to cover the loss in the item's value. For more details, please see our Condition of returned items policy. If you're responsible for return shipping costs and you used a label provided by eBay, we'll deduct the cost of the label from your refund.

Confused, how long is eBay's refund policy valid for?
Ebay doesn't really have a blanket return policy. Ebay has a protection for buyers against items arriving damaged or not as described. If this happens, you have 30 days to open the claim. You state that the item worked for a time, so it is not protected since it was as described and undamaged when you received it. The MANUFACTURERS warranty, is 1 year which means you get this resolved through the manufacturer. Ebay and the seller on ebay have nothing to do with this. More on reddit.com

Return policy
Customer service probably told her "nothing we can do, but you can ask the seller and it's up to them." I wouldn't. If they give negative feedback you can have it removed. More on reddit.com

Setting up your return policy | eBay
When you sell on eBay, you need to state whether you accept returns or not, and if so, under what conditions. For example, you might assert who pays for return shipping or that you’re willing to accept returns for a specific period of time after a sale. Whatever you decide your policy is, it needs to be clearly specified in your listings.

I bought an item that has sold out everywhere, they are bling box dolls like the labubu but a different brand called Maymei. Seller took about a week and a half to respond and I was going to cancel once they hit their 10 business day max. Now I finally got the item which now I'm not surprised why it went through so quickly, I saw the size of the package on the delivery pictures and knew I did not get what I purchased, it's a pack of sports cards. 230$ and I just got sports cards.

Now I did a return request with pictures of the package, bag and even a delivery picture to show it's the same poly mailer and info on it. If the seller doesn't accept returns and they don't answer, what happens next?

r/Ebay on Reddit: Confused, how long is eBay's refund policy valid for?
January 25, 2023 -

I bought a kitchen appliance that came with a 1-year warranty, and I used it for several months until it randomly broke (I also called the manufacturer, and they said they discontinued the line due to problems with it).

In this situation, do I not pursue my refund through eBay website? I had originally assumed I could easily request a refund, but then today I saw, buried down in eBay's "Money back policy" page, that eBay's refund policy lasts only 30 days after the delivery date? Which means my only way to get a refund is through the manufacturer of the appliance?

I'm asking to clear up my confusion on this. So basically eBay's refund policy is only for 30 days? And after that consumers need to call up the company or retailer because it has nothing to do with eBay anymore? Is that how it works?
