It's 30 days from the date it was marked as delivered. Honestly if you get close and haven't reciebed the piece open a return and close it if the piece comes. If it doesn't come before the return window closes send the item back for a refund. More on reddit.com

Did you open a return on Ebay for item not as described? You should have done that as soon as you received the wrong item, not hold on to it for a month. If you did that, the seller has to issue you a return label and you have a couple of weeks to ship it back. Once the seller receives it back, they have to issue the refund. Sounds like you let the clock run out and the case was closed against you. You can ask the seller to still take it back and refund, but if they refuse I don't think Ebay is going to do anything. Hello, a buyer bought a coffee maker from me and now wants to return it after 30 days. He said it worked when he got it and they’ve used it about 10ish times but it has now stopped worked and won’t turn on. Ebay advised that I can deny the return because it has been over 30 days and they would automatically close out the case on that basis. It is a $500+ machine and could have easily been damaged by the buyer if they left it on and plugged in for too long, or turned it on without any water inside.
I am worried they will do a chargeback in which I will lose both my money and the machine. If the buyer damaged it and I accept a return, the part that is most likely damaged will cost $100+ minimum.
The buyer did ask what I can do to help, so I’m thinking I can nicely say I cannot return after 30 days and try to help, but that it is out of my control when it arrived in working condition.
What are my options here?

You only need to follow ebays terms and conditions, which are accept or deny the return. If one has been opened. There is no need to communicate with the buyer. If you feel like you must repl, a simple "I'm sorry, but the 30 day return period has passed." Even if they charge back after you deline, ebay will cover you on the fact that's its past 30 days delivery alone. On top of that the buyer admitted it worked fine. Of course if your feeling generous you can accept and lose money, but idk anyone who does this to lose money.
