I have "no returns" selected. Sadly, this doesn't matter, and a buyer can always claim "Item not as described" and force a return. Your best bet is to accept the return, send the buyer a return label, get the item back, inspect it (some buyers might damage the item just to mess with you), and relist. Shady buyers will claim "Item not as described" in order to get a refund without having to return the item, so they get the item for free. I recommend you don't agree to this. Ask for your item back. Then relist it. Answer from pretty-posh on reddit.com

How do I respond to a return request? I described my item accurately in the description.

Okay, I got my first return request on ebay.
Just accept the return and then report him to eBay for abusing buyer protection. He definitely did that. More on reddit.com

Should I open a return request or do as they say?
If you take the partial, change the battery and that isn't the issue, you're pretty screwed. If you change the battery and then try and return, they can keep 50% because you altered the item. Open a return. More on reddit.com

How does eBay returns work if seller doesn't accept returns?
The sellers "does not accept returns" policy only applies to buyers remorse. It doesn't mean squat when it comes to getting something that wasnt as it was described. As long as you file a return case specifically with the reason "item not as described", then you'll get your money back one way or another. The seller has 4 days to respond to the case either by selecting "issue return label" or "refund". If they do neither and just don't respond then after 4 days you can go back to the case and there should be an option to "ask ebay to step in". Once ebay has to step in, in these cases they'll generally just refund you (out of the sellers money) and tell you to keep the item since the seller refused to issue a return label. Seller will also then get a defect on their account for an unresolved "item not as described" case which will increase their seller fees. More on reddit.com

r/Ebay on Reddit: How do I respond to a return request? I described my item accurately in the description.
March 10, 2021 -

Someone wants to return a trading card they purchased from me on Febuary 15. Their reason is "the item does not match the description". They then say in a comment the item "does not match the photos" I believe I described all damage on the card accurately and my photos show the front and back as well as another photo of the damaged corner very clearly. I have "no returns" selected.

On the request I can only send a message, or give some sort of refund or return. What is the best way to proceed?

Setting up your return policy | eBay
To save time when managing return requests, you can set up rules to automatically accept returns or send immediate refunds. When you sell on eBay, you need to state whether you accept returns or not, and if so, under what conditions. For example, you might assert who pays for return shipping or that you’re willing to accept returns for a specific period of time after a sale.

I bought an item that has sold out everywhere, they are bling box dolls like the labubu but a different brand called Maymei. Seller took about a week and a half to respond and I was going to cancel once they hit their 10 business day max. Now I finally got the item which now I'm not surprised why it went through so quickly, I saw the size of the package on the delivery pictures and knew I did not get what I purchased, it's a pack of sports cards. 230$ and I just got sports cards.

Now I did a return request with pictures of the package, bag and even a delivery picture to show it's the same poly mailer and info on it. If the seller doesn't accept returns and they don't answer, what happens next?

eBay Return Request For $6,250! And How We Handled It
May 25, 2023 - Nobody likes to see an open case, a return request, or a problem with an item. The return request we recently had was for over $6,000 for a single sale we did on a TurboChef oven. We’ll walk through the process of what we did. Typically returns over $1,000 will go to eBay’s high value department.
