October 13, 2017 - Scammers watch for low feedback sellers and love to pounce. You have 50 Free Auctions each month to wet your feet. Use them. Don't try to pretend you are in the USA. Give the location of your product (not your location). If you are selling on dotCOM, your biggest problem will be shipping. You will be forced to use Flat Rate Shipping which may cause some problems. Pay close attention to the weight and dimensions of your parcels. Measure in metric. Canada Post rates have been based in metric since 1974 and any others you use will be inaccurate.

r/Ebay on Reddit: selling on ebay from Canada
November 17, 2023 -
I've used Ebay for years, but just to buy items. Each time when I tried to sell something, I failed to do this, because exceptionally overcomplicated interface to add shipping methods/prices.
For example, I can't find Canada post (what is most cheap way to send something), and in terms of UPS standard, I don't see option to add US and Canada. I see option to add all N and S Americas.
Also, looks like ebay just can't calculate prices by buyer location if I'm in Canada, I should add flat rate. So difficult and so non-user friendly interface. Please help me understand how to use it if you're Canadian resident, and want to sell small used things, like old Canon 50D and lenses, like old CPU, RAM for PC, etc.

If you don’t see Canada Post as an option, or calculated shipping options within Canada, then you must be on the wrong site. Make sure you’re on eBay.CA not eBay.COM

Under the preferences tab of your listing check what it says for item location and make sure it's set to Canada with a proper postal code. Also make sure you have an estimate for dimensions and weight in the shipping section, even if it's an estimated guess. If those are both good you may want to try making a new account from scratch on the eBay.ca website rather than using your existing purchasing account. Older Canadian accounts are sometimes linked to the .com version of the site and it may be defaulting you to the American listing pages rather than the Canadian ones.
