I installed Eclipse for Java Developer and now I want to switch to Eclipse for Java EE Developers. One way that I see is by uninstalling and reinstalling the Eclipse IDE and selecting Eclipse for Enterprise Java Developers during installation.
Is there any other way to do so? Also, I found here to not upgrade by adding the missing plugins.
Yes its included but the sources of Java Development Tools and Plug-in Development Environment were not included.
Go to this link here you can compare the packages included in standard and enterprise editions.
Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers is a superset of Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, so the short answer is that you don't need to install them both.
You can see the contents of each package by clicking its name on the downloads page. You can also use the compare page that @Chandrayya mentioned.
Hello good afternoon everybody,
Upon downloading eclipse, I clicked the option: Eclipse IDE for Java Developers whereas I needed to choose the Eclipse IDE for Enterprise Java Developers. Does anyone know I can install the Enterprise version when I already have Eclipse on machine?
Windows 11 PC
Thank you!
Good night people. I'm studying Java and my teacher uses Eclipse as IDE, as I'm not satisfied with the performance of Windows 11, I was thinking about entering the Linux world, my friend recommended popOS. I was wondering if Eclipse (specifically the Enterprise Java and Web Developers version) is available for popOS.
What you need is Web Tools Platform added to your Eclipse installation. The info on how to accomplish this can be found here
Eclipse menu Help - "Install new software" Then in the work with : "Indigo - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo" (or your eclipse version)
Then choose : Web, XML, Java EE and OSGi ... Then select: Eclipse Java EE Developer Tools
continue the update and I think that's it :-)
