Should I put largely irreverent education on my resume?
Education is never irrelevant. List it all. Your BA in Graphic Design is still a BA. As for me, I'm getting a masters in systems engineering, and I have it on my resume. It just says MSc. Systems Engineering, 2016 expected. More on reddit.com

How to fill out the education section of your resume with only a high school diploma?
Having just the name of your high school and date of graduation is perfectly acceptable. My resume only has the name of my university, field of study, and the year I graduated. Short and sweet at the bottom. I dont even list the extracurricular activities I participated in, as work experience is the focus of my resume. It gives you things to talk about in the interview. If you need extra content to fill space in your resume you can certainly add in the extracurricular sports that you hint at. This could be used to point out that you know how to work on a team, and potentially leadership skills/ how to make quick decisions in pressure situations, etc. It's all about how you spin it in the interview. Also, If you plan to attend college or any additional schooling I would add this to your resume as soon as you are accepted with this years date - present. Dont sweat the short education section with only your high school graduation. If you get some work experience over the next 2 years and extra schooling it is pretty much expected for everything in high school to be ommited from your resume in the future. More on reddit.com

What to put in resume regarding education with 10 YOE
The fact of the matter is that some orgs will care, some won't. Some people will notice, others won't. I'd probably remove the education section all together. But I'm also of the opinion that certs have much less value than people (especially the cert industry) would want you to believe. More on reddit.com

If relevant, you can include your GPA, thesis title, study abroad experiences, and academic honors.

#3. What If I Have an Education Gap or Took Time Off from Studies?
Treat any gaps in your education the same as you would treat an employment gap . Be upfront with the hiring manager and list the start and end dates to account for the time of the gap on your resume. Use your cover letter to briefly explain the gap without going into too much detail. Hiring managers are understanding, and reasons like health, family, or professional experience are all common to justify education gaps.
