Background: I'm getting a divorce due to domestic violence and abuse.
I was looking at our Edward Jones account we opened last year. At first I only saw the Roth and Joint savings account we opened with them and no money has moved so I thought we were good. I looked again last night and clicked on "accounts" and can see our non-Edward Jones accounts too. I see our Roth and Joint as well as our children's 529s, a 401k, and then a "Savings non-qualified" account with 35k.
My immediate thought was that the non-qualified account is a secret account he's been hiding and surprise surprise we can add financial abuse to the list of issues. Is there anything else that could be, like the original account we transferred money into Jones from and the balance just isn't updated?
Our Jones FA is a mutual friend so I don't want to ask him yet just because I don't want my husband to be alerted that I know about it in case it is a secret account.
Any thoughts or advice are welcome!

Any thoughts of yours should be filtered through your divorce attorney. If you don't have a divorce attorney, seeking one out is where you start. Knowing or not knowing about the account does not generally matter as assets must be declared as a part of the divorce process. Ill intentioned money movements can be unwound by the courts.
