I'm looking for a pant that I can sleep in on a long haul flight but also bounce back for day wear at my destination. Some kind of pocket is mandatory and I can't do leggings. I've tried Athleta and similar brands and the fabric just kills me. It's so scratchy and just doesn't feel good. Also, the Athleta seems to pill and look cheap pretty quickly. Jogger or wide leg is fine - really any cut. I just want to FEEL cozy but look somewhat buttoned up.

Marine Layer Allison pants ! They're tencel so they mostly feel like cotton. They are quite cropped so get the tall if you want to hide your ankle bone. They're my go-to if I need a light-ish pant that looks nice enough for post-flight work meetings. I've even worn them on red eyes. I will say they can crease after a lengthy flight so bring some wrinkle releaser or just a misting bottle with water to relax them if that's a concern. If you want a wider leg (that isn't at all cropped), I've heard great things about the new Allison trouser as well! I was holding off on getting them but this post has made me pull the trigger. So into a nice wide leg for travel (just make sure you tuck them into your socks when you hit the head). ETA: Just bought them, SEEYOUSOON gives you 15% off.

I can't be bothered to wear pants without elastic (preferably just in the back) most days, and it looks like most posts on this topic are at least a year old, so let's start a new one now that fall shopping will be happening soon!
I'm particularly interested in business casual styles, but casual is fine too!

Athleta - the brooklyn ankle pants and endless lines work well for business casual (especially the black/navy colors). As a long term customer, I'd say, sizing recently is a challenge - athleta seems to have thrown out quality control for sizing so you can order 5 size 10s of the same pant and end up with 5 pairs of pants that fit sizes 4-16. They do have a free return policy though - and sometimes it's easier to get the right size by shopping in store. I also really love their venice joggers - more on the casual side but I have definitely worn them with heels/boots and a blouse to dress them up on occasion!
