Good/bad experiences buying USED equipment from GuitarCenter.COM? (online, not from local GC store)
I've done it many times. The pictures are lousy and the descriptions are non-existent, so I always call the store before I place an order. Even then, the descriptions aren't always accurate. However, you can return an online purchase to your local store; if you tell them that the description was incorrect, they'll usually refund shipping.
The upside is that there are a lot of really good deals in GC's used inventory, and shipping prices are very low to boot.

I'm just curious because there is typically no kind of information about the used guitars listed at guitarcenter.com. I don't know if you can easily return items or if there's any kind of quality you can expect. On ebay, there is at least the illusion that you are covered if the guitar does not meet expectations based on the pictures and description. On GuitarCenter, they just post one small picture and it doesn't even say anything about what condition it's in or what kind of guarantee is offered. That makes it hard to tell if a really low-priced guitar is totally messed up or just hasn't been selling locally for them.
