November 24, 2016 - Assuming the water input is the 'front' face, my oxygen is coming out the right side, auto-ejecting into a Mek gas tank. On the left side, I placed a Gas Generator (GG) to burn the hydrogen. Either the Electrolytic Separator (ES) is auto-ejecting into the GG, or else the GG is 'pulling' from the ES.

The Electrolytic Separator requires a constant supply of power and must have a source of a suitable liquid in order to produce the gases. As the liquid is electrolyzed, the component gases will be stored in its internal tanks. Should either tank fill completely, the Separator will turn off.

If at least one of the internal product storage buffers is full and no product is removed, the machine stops working. If only one product is needed, use the "dumping" options (see Slots). The Electrolytic Separator requires energy which can be supplied by a generator, energy storage cell, or cable placed on the side with the socket.

The Hydrogen, though, simply won’t move. I’m using pressurized fluid tubes. I feel like I have everything set up correctly but nothing happens to the hydrogen. If I place a tank beside the ES, the hydrogen does go in, but I can’t figure out how to get it from there. It’s frustrating the bejebus out of me and I had to rage quit about an hour ago. It’s got plenty of power and neither the oxygen nor the hydrogen are completely filling their respective slots in the machine so it should still be running. What do I do?!

February 22, 2014 - I supply Electrolytic Separator with brine, and it starts producing hydrogen and chlorine correctly. (internal tanks fill up). Then I connect both sides of that separator to two sides of Chemical Infuser (which takes those two gasses). The problem is that once the separator internal tanks get emptied, it stops producing hydrogen and chlorine altogether, and both sides in GUI say "None".

The electrolytic separator will stop if one of the outputs is full, so you might need to make it vent the excess oxygen by clicking the button next to the “Idle”.

So I've made a setup which pumps normal water into an electrolytic seperator but hydrogen gas isn't being generated, it just says empty, I have heaps of oxygen but no hydrogen at all. What can I do to fix this?

Are you accidentally venting all the hydrogen? Do you have the correct piping hooked up to the correct side? The electrolytic separator also wont make anything if one side is full so make sure you either have the oxygen going somewhere or that you are venting excess oxygen.

If your oxygen is full it will stop the machine, empty the oxygen out and see if it generates both? Other than that not a clue

October 7, 2014 - If this is 1.7 you need to update Mek, at one point it was "bugged" and you needed 20 Electrolytic Seps just to run 1 purification chamber with 9/9 upgrades in it (nvm factories). Although in fixing that they went the completely opposite way and now it doesn't consume any oxygen in the process · Click to expand... What? This doesnt sound right because I am on the most current version of Mek (Mekanism-1.7.10-7.1.0.92) and my purification chamber ran out of oxygen last night because I let the hydrogen buffer tank get filled up.
