So in order to get more ore with Mekanism you need oxygen and you need an Electrolytic Separator for that. I used all 8 energy upgrades and it still chugs through power like there is no tomorrow. I then built a big reactor and I still have a power deficit. I was running on 5 Advanced solar arrays before the reactor. What would you all recommend me using to even out my Power usage/creation scale?

If I remember correctly, and 1 Mekanism Joule (the units of power) is equal to 10 RF (and they should be, unless I'm confusing them with Eu, although I think that was 2.5 or something), the Electrolytic separator uses 4k rf/t on DEFAULT configs - 400J/t (info taken from the mekanism wiki). Now, this shouldn't be too hard to achieve... some solid fuel generators will help, and you should definitely be storing energy up even if you're not ore processing - I made an automated and entirely self sufficient (within one chunk, aside from brine production) 4x ore system with Mekanism, using factories, which increase efficiency (I believe it uses the same gas or whatever to process a full factory at a time versus one machine at a time, so anywhere from 3-7x efficiency improvement). Also, no matter what, any unused hydrogen should be burned in the generator (if it's still around in the latest Mekanism... not 100% on that). Your goal shouldn't be to make more chemicals for processing, but process in the most efficient manner - Mek is GREAT for saving space once you figure out what machines need what.

8 energy upgrades are supposed to cut a mekanism machine's power usage by 10, but for some reason the Electrolytic Separator isn't responding to this, requiring 120 rf/t no matter how many upgrades I put in. The internal capacity is getting bigger though. Is this an intended feature?

It also says that the "EnergyMultiplier is a configurable multiplier that defaults to 10" (which would result 10^2=100 times power consumption) But when I tested it, the power consumption of Electrolytic Separator doubled with every speed upgrade card.

I am having huge power problems while using just 5 electrolytic separators. I am currently using a mix of solar panels from Powah! (Niotic x2 and blazing x2) and solar flux reborn (2x Tier 5) but these still don't seem to be enough and immediately drain 10million RF out of my ender cell the second I turn them on. Is this an issue with the mod or is that how it's supposed to be? Any solutions to power would be great!

Do you have eight of the “energy” upgrades in each? If not, and you have just speed, that’ll do it. Also, depending on which machine they’re pumping into, use the “gas” upgrade in that machine. It will upgrade the efficiency. Should use less of said gas that way, so the separator will not have to work as hard.

hey so i've been checking out Mekanism addons and i saw these large machines and been wondering, are they worth the trouble? they seem to have tons of inputs and outputs around them but no actual configuration within them like all the other mekanism stuff does, so i'm afraid it'll be annoying to deal with. has anyone used these yet? are they worth it?

They seem to be more efficient (at least space wise). I reconfigured my chemical processing for ore multiplication to use the large machines and needed way less space and machines.
