Then I bought Microsoft 365 Business for $12.50/mo since I needed Office apps anyway for my consulting business, as well as cloud storage. Upon registration, Microsoft gives you instructions to modify DNS settings on Google. It's pretty easy even for non-IT people. From there on out it just worked, I get/use my email through Outlook on my PC and phone, or via the web Outlook app from any different computer. How much are you paying? Based on what you described, I assume WAY too much.
I use Google Domains as the domain registrar and then Namecheap's Private Email.
All of that totals under $24/year which is about as cheap as I've ever seen for these services.
