I'm writing to ask for insights on the salary prospects for embedded systems engineers compared to those in web applications software engineering. Based on my observations, it seems that engineers working on web services in large tech companies tend to earn more than their counterparts working in embedded systems. However, I welcome any corrections or additional information that could shed more light on this.
In my humble opinion, working on embedded systems projects can be more complex than working on web applications, given the complexity of the tools and environments involved. Personally, I have experience tinkering with Arduino and AVR, as well as working on a few IoT projects with NodeMCU, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. On the other hand, I also find developing web services and working on solving business problems through web applications to be highly rewarding.
As such, it's been challenging for me to decide which path to pursue. I'm leaning towards making my decision based on the potential monetary gains, which is why I'm seeking insights on the salary prospects in the embedded systems world. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.
