Emory Hospital nurses no longer employed after viral TikTok mocking expecting mothers
We as nurses are to advocate for our patients. They should trust us. Unfortunately, the nature of this job is ruthless. Venting frustrations is natural. But, doing that publicly is uncalled for. They won’t sympathize and if anything, you’ll ostracize yourself (or get yourself fired). I think most hospitals have social media clauses anyway. Filming this on site was especially wrong. November 5, 2022 - I delivered at Emory Midtown in 2021. I wouldn’t recommend that experience to anyone. The nurses from the tiktok are on par for what I experienced the entire time I was there. ... I think it’s easy to miss how burned out the people working within our crumbling healthcare system are and how prevalent compassion fatigue is within the field.
