Nurses Fired For Viral TikTok Video - General Nursing Support
Some mothers who gave birth at the hospital in Atlanta viewed the video and are shocked. Hopefully the mother who asked "How much does my baby weigh?" before the nurse had a chance to weigh the infant did not see the video of the nurse mocking the new Mom. Emory Hospital nurses no longer employed after viral TikTok mocking expecting mothers
We as nurses are to advocate for our patients. They should trust us. Unfortunately, the nature of this job is ruthless. Venting frustrations is natural. But, doing that publicly is uncalled for. They won’t sympathize and if anything, you’ll ostracize yourself (or get yourself fired). I think most hospitals have social media clauses anyway. Filming this on site was especially wrong. Can we talk about the Emory Nurses Icks video?
people have gotten way too comfortable posting anything online. what’s craziest to me is that so many people aren’t even doing it anonymously anymore? while social media is helpful at shining a spotlight to businesses and people that need the help/exposure it’s also got so many people so addicted to the attention that they’ll say literally anything, anywhere in order to go viral. which is also funny because going viral doesn’t even guarantee things/opportunities the way it did previously. while i’ve def learned some cool things from tiktok, i genuinely believe it’s doing more harm than good.
