I've sold to these sites. I can tell you this, the seller and facilitator (empire) could care less about protecting you. There will be non-competes signed, etc - but it doesn't mean much. The best advice I can give you is, see what they are selling and if it's possible, source it yourself and sell it. Established brands in a certain niche are much harder (obviously), but don't believe a single thing these people say as to why they are selling their business. I've sold ecommerce sites and marketplace accounts in the past. They were doing 7-8 figures easy. I almost always sold because the item was trending down or the business was at risk, and/or easily replicated. This is me on the seller side. I have no bought any business from empire flippers or other sites. I'd imagine most were exactly like me. Why sell a golden goose? Answer from lexguru86 on reddit.com

Amazon FBA State of the Industry Report 2022 - Empire Flippers
October 11, 2023 - With the increase in the number of buyers coming to our marketplace, competition for FBA assets has increased, resulting in more offers for businesses and less time to make the sale. This increase in buyers has also resulted in a greater willingness to deploy capital into assets faster, as buyers don’t want to miss out on quality businesses. This data correlates with the increase in the size of businesses we list on our marketplace, as aggregators look to find big brands so they can own a larger share of the Amazon FBA market.
