I am very new to using Excel and my job has asked me to create a training tracker for my department.
I would need the employee names down one column, and then the different types of training (e.e first aid training, Microsoft training) across each rows. I’d love to add a function where the cells colour code depending on whether the employee has completed the training, is booked in for that training, or has requested the training. This table would ideally include the dates of when the training was completed/when it’s booked in for.
Any help would be amazing, as I’ve been trying to follow tutorials online for the past few hours with no luck. Thank you so so much!!

I don’t have any recommendations, I don’t think there are even any LMS’s that are that limited in scope. Reason probably being that most LMS starts off similar to what you’re asking for(a system to track certs and trainings), but overtime more stuff gets added to it like courses, tests, etc and before you know it they become just another overly-feature rich LMS. IMO your best bet is to go with an existing LMS and just not use the features you don’t need, if you need the feature in the future you’ll be thankful for it. Source: a decade in the tech industry and I built something similar for a company, eventually so much stuff got added to it that it pretty much became a Litmos clone except we needed a whole team to maintain it due to size and we wondered why we didn’t just go with an existing solution from the beginning.
