Hi Ron, I'm John, a fellow Microsoft user like you.
I understand your frustration, and I’m here to help. From what you’ve shared, it seems like you're using Windows 11 version 21H2, which reached its end of service as of October 8, 2024. This means it no longer receives security updates or support. Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/relea...
To get your device up to date, the best course of action now is to perform a Repair Upgrade. This process upgrades your system to the latest version of Windows 11 without affecting your personal files or apps.
Here’s how to do it:
> Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from the official Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
> Open the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your PC.
> Make sure to choose the option to Keep personal files and apps.
> Ensure your device stays plugged in and connected to the internet during the process.

This should resolve the issue and get your system updated to the latest supported version. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

Down in the system tray, it shows "Your version of Windows 11 has reached end of service. Click to download a newer version of Windows 11 to stay updated."
When I click on it, the Windows Update window opens. Its states You're Up to Date but under it, it shows "Your device is missing important security updates. Make sure to keep device on and plugged in so updates can complete.
I am not sure how to resolve.
Current installed Windows info is below
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 21H2
Installed on 12/7/2024
OS build 22000.2538
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22001.1000.0
I am getting a series of conflicting update messages:
Your version of Windows 11 has reached end of service.
Your device is up to date
Your device is missing important security updates.
Meanwhile nothing updates. The current Windows version is 21H2.
A fix to update the Windows version would be appreciated.
Hi, This is Ramesh.
You may have an older Windows 11 build, such as 21H2 or 22H2, both of which have reached the end of servicing. 23H2 and 24H2 are supported.
Please run "winver.exe" and post a screenshot of that dialog.
You don't need to buy anything just let advisors here work out why you are missing updates.
Apart for checking what version and build you have currently go to Settings > windows update to see if there are any updates waiting to be installed.
Install Version 23H2 Enablement Package

The Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2 reached the end of their service on October 8, 2024. This means Microsoft is no longer providing security updates or general support for this specific version.
Download and install Windows 11 Installation Assistant, this will help you upgrade your system to the latest supported version.
I have a Dell 3050 with an i7-7700 processor. I don't use it often but last night I fired it up and discovered that Win 11 Pro is end of life. Thought I could just switch to Win 11 but the PC Health check says the machine is not capable of running Windows 11.
Wait, what? It's already running Win 11 Pro....
What options do I have?
