Looking into the Endy Hybrid for former support and comfort option. Then i’m reading about the Endy mattress topper which is a 2” dual sided foam layer you can buy separately
What i don’t understand is, isn’t this counter productive to having a comfort top already on the mattress?
So they make the mattress with a coil base for support, ok. Then foam layers for softness, great.
But then if you go and buy the mattress topper and use the firm side up, its sitting on top of soft foam, so…how can it stay firm? At this point is it like throwing different materials on top of each other and just squashing it all to one layer of mush? Also right now they’re offering a bedding bundle for free but i would much rathe have them throw in the topper. How bout it @endycanada ?
Has anyone combined the mattress toper (firm side up) on the hybrid?

Hi fellow peeps in mattress review hell! Here's my experience with the Endy.
I purchased the Endy at the end of January after spending way too many hours reading online mattress reviews. It was my first ever mattress purchase (at the age of 28, I had always gotten second-hand mattresses before). I was pretty excited to get it with all the Casper/Endy hype! Plus I live in a condo building, and liked the convenience of a mattress in a box.
I am a combination sleeper who sleeps mostly on my stomach (50%), side (30%), and back (20%). I am a 5'9 female who weighs 145 lbs, and lives in Canada. I experience low/mid back pain very easily.
**Delivery:**Arrived super quickly, I want to say within a few business days of ordering it. Left outside my front apartment door which was perfect. Kinda heavy, but not so heavy that I couldn't move and set it up on a bed frame myself.
**Unboxing:**Found it easy to unbox, though the off-gassing smell was pretty bad and filled my whole apartment. I left the window open all day but I could still smell it when I went to bed (and it gave me a slight headache after sleeping on it). Smell dissipated after about a week.
**First impressions:**This is my first latex mattress. I have to say I wasn't too impressed when I first got in it. When I saw "MEMORY FOAM" I thought cozy, sink-in, mattress feelings. The Endy is definitely more 'bouncy' and you don't sink into the mattress top too much. Though I will say, it is cool and doesn't heat up.
My first few nights I woke up with pretty severe back pain. I do get lower/mid back pain quite easily, and I found myself so uncomfortable during the night I would wake up from the pain.
**Foundations:**I thought the issue was that my bed frame was not ideal for the mattress (it definitely wasn't - it was a wire frame with wires spaced 4 inches apart). So I promptly moved the Endy onto the floor to try it at its firmest.
**Final notes:**Sadly, after a week of sleeping with the Endy on the floor, my back pain has not improved. The mattress is too soft in the middle, and my back is out of alignment when sleeping on my stomach. I feel like if I was a back and side sleeper this would be a perfect mattress though.
All that said - I do have two friends who have been sleeping on an Endy for over a year, and absolutely love it. They are both very active and find it gives them no pain.
**Return:**I am still in the process of returning the Endy, but it was quite painless to initiate the process. I called the Endy team and they arranged for a charitable organization to come grab it in a few days. Full refund expected, no complaints here.
I have just pulled the trigger on the Silk&Snow Hybrid mattress, in the hopes of getting that 'sinking in feeling' on the top, but with more lumbar / torso support overnight. I'm pretty nervous since the Endy experience went so badly, but I'm hoping for the best and will update again. If the S&S doesn't work, I'm going to stop shopping for bed in a box and will head to an in-person mattress big-box store (sadly).
In total, I slept on the Endy for about 3 weeks.
Update March 2024: I’ve had the silk and snow hybrid since writing this post and love it.
