I have made everything as it should be but the cables wont take energy from extraction cables. Pls help
Edit. I'm not sure does it matter that i have like 7 mekanism advanced solar generators and 3 heat generators.
ive tried this on multiple cables and the energy goes into the extraction cable but does not go to any other cables or any machine connected to it. am I doing something wrong?
What are the power cable options in this pack that people are using?
-
Cyclic cables just straight stop working. So those are no good.
-
Mekanism cables are disabled for some silly reason.
-
There's no Ender I/O
-
Cannot attach flux points to everything (or can I?)
-
Thermal ducts are limited to about 5k rf/t unless you want to deal with needlessly convoluted recipes due to not having the fluid transfer machine thing. Trying to do everything with cryostabilized ducts feels like a nightmare.
-
Integrated Dynamics requires exporters on every device and does not allow more than one thing to interact with that face (making it a nightmare when dealing with mekanism) there also seems to be a power transfer limit well below the 4-5m rf/t that is expected at endgame.
-
Don't know how xnet power works, but imagine that would be a nightmare if you aren't already using xnet for handling items.
Any other reasonable alternatives?
Here's a bunch of different configurations of powering a Packager from two different batteries with two different cables.
Those instanced marked with a torch are the only ones that work.

Linking an energy extraction cable to the Packager: Works
-
Linking an energy cable to the Packager: Fails
-
Using a Fluxduct: Fails

Linking a battery to an energy cable: Works
So yeah, given all this bugged behaviour, how should I power my phalanx of Packagers other than using lots of energy extraction cables like in the rightmost case, or giving each packager its own intermediary battery with one energy extraction cable in between?
I'm still in the earlier stages of SF4, I have all the trees now but I'm only starting with building machines and RF power now to automate processing the tree output.
EDIT: Okay, I think I got my answer.
When I loaded up my test world I took the screenshot in all of the Packagers were fully loaded even though the majority wouldn't load by themselves at all. And the comments saying the Packagers are only pulling energy when they need it were right. I got confused by the fact that usually machines always pull energy as soon as they are connected, but not in this case. The Packagers would only fill up when energy was pushed into them by energy extraction cables which I misinterpreted. Thanks for all the help.
Nothing in the cable
whats in the chests
I do have the corresponding filing folders needed to store the items, placed inside the filing cabinets.
Item Extraction Cables will extract the items from the inventory they're attached to, your picture shows one set to whitelist with nothing approved, so nothing will move. Click the page in the top to set it to blacklist-nothing, and it'll move anything it can via the Item Cables - you need to connect the Extraction Cables to the desired inventory with Item Cables, not Extraction Cables. One pulls from an inventory, the other transfers items to an inventory elsewhere.
Why not just put the bonsai pots on top of the filing cabinets directly and skip the whole item conduit step? The stuff is going three blocks anyways, just move the pots with shift-right click and two empty hands, put them on top of the relevant cabinet and you're done forever.
Can we get a screen of the back the filing cabinets? Can you right click on one of the cables and see whats in it?
Are all the chests filled with the same materials?
For the last half an hour to 40 minutes I've been switching the direction, looking up tutorials, and even visiting different threads on this subreddit just to figure out why these cables will not work at all. And I've got nothing. No one has answered this question, presumably because apparently I'm the only one stupid enough not to understand what I'm doing wrong.
From what I can tell, the cables are pointed the correct direction, the netherite generator is able to output from any direction, the battery is set to output to the top, and the netherite furnace is able to receive power when in direct contact with the generator. So why will the cables not work?
I don't understand. Everything is correct, the issue is purely that they are not sending or receiving power via the base Powah cables. I've had this issue before with these cables in other packs so I don't believe the pack itself is important. These cables make me so upset but they're the easiest to make. Please help
So I have chests connected to generators with item extraction cables and I find they stop drawing the items I'm using for fuel.
EX. I have a chest connected to my simple storage network, it is drawing rotten flesh and this part seems to work fine. The chest is also connected to an Upgradable culinary generator. The item extraction cable I'm using to feed the generator stops working at random, I have the cable set to white list rotten flesh.
Any ideas on what could be causing this? It is also happening with my combustion generators that are not connected to the network.
