Alright folks, this thread is getting locked because this is a translation subreddit, not r/Islam . Threads should stay on the topic of translating and helping OP understand what the object is. Religious debate and religious advice you believe OP needs do not belong on this subreddit. For example, in this thread, it's appropriate to say "The writing on this is hard/impossible to translate, but it's recognisable as Persian/Arabic. The writer is trying to place a curse on [you/the names mentioned in the note]." It's also appropriate to add "Ask r/Islam / a local mosque how to get rid of it" if you feel very strongly that OP needs to hear religious advice about this object - but be reasonable, don't do this if someone else in the thread already has. It is not appopriate to say "you must take care of this in a proper religious way" or "to destroy this properly, do [religious steps]". This is not related to translation, it is assuming OP wants your guidance in a religion that they don't necessarily follow. Comments like "be careful" or "someone is trying to hurt you" are likewise unhelpful on their own, because they're not translations. (Comments like "this is hilarious" are also unhelpful, by the way.) Nearly every thread with an Islamic "magic object" devolves into such advice (but, funnily enough, not threads on other religious objects, even though those also demand respect from believers...), so in the future, we'll be moderating these threads a bit more strictly to avoid them going off-topic. We've added a FAQ entry for such objects in the future. It states the same as above and mentions a disposal method from this thread for OPs that are on the fence about whether they want to believe in curses and such. Try playaling.com . It's video-based, so it's a bit different from quran.com . Playaling takes Arabic videos from YouTube and provides translation and transcript. You can also check the meaning for individual words. When you hover over a word in the transcript, you get the meaning, pronunciation and other relevant information. More on reddit.com
