Making the perfect wall for wall-mounted entertainment center
Depends how your wall is built. If it's stick built (2x4/2x6) you just need to find the studs and you can hang a horse off the wall. If the wall is ICF (foam covered concrete), I'd recommend anchors into the concrete. Not difficult, but you do need some long anchors to get through the foam, and a rotary hammer to install them. Another good option that I like that gives more flexibility on exactly where you place items on your wall without drywall anchors is to make the back of your floating AV cabinet 3/4" plywood so you can hang the TV and any other items right off the back. also, look into a behind the couch table! theyre usually like 8 inches wide and couch height, they go between the couch and the wall, since you have only a small coffee table and no side tables itll offer you some more surface area for a few books, a small lamp, or even drinking glasses while watching something! Need some advice on reinforcing the wall behind my future entertainment center.
I will be wall-mounting a large LG G4 OLED TV (77in or 83in) and floating A/V cabinet.
I might also wall-mount an A/V rack with amps, consoles, etc.
The wall in question is an exterior wall (insulated for our Canadian winters) 30ft long spanning the living room and dining room (open plan).
I want to make sure all of the wall-mounted items are as solidly fixed as possible, without anchors or other aids.
What are my options?
