There is a difference between theming a hotel after IP such as Harry Potter and making it a high dollar experience such as star cruiser. If it is a hotel with standard hotel rates plus a small premium for the theming it would likely do very well. The main issue I see is continuity. This is very big to Universal. I do not think they would have a "second" Hogwarts as there is only one in the story. Having one located in the park and a separate hotel would break from the genuine following of the stories. The likely reason is name recognition. This land was clearly meant to be a Fantastic Beasts land, but once those movies failed to make a big impact, they likely pivoted to rebrand as much as they could to be something guests would be more interested in. The Harry Potter name is much more valuable than Fantastic Beasts, and Place Cachée is not something most guests would associate with the Wizarding World except the most devoted. More on reddit.com

Is this a crazy idea or is it something that seems actually possible? A highly themed hotel that looks like Hogwarts inside and out. I feel like it would be a huge success as long as the prices for rooms aren’t extremely absurd like Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser hotel. I know I’m not the first person to think of this but what are your thoughts?

After the flop that was starcrusier I don’t think they’d ever do this. At least not a full hotel. Now a hotel with HP themed rooms like Disney has for many of their IP that could be a possibility. I was also talking with someone the other day about themed cruises. Where it’s just an overlay of the usual cruise but for that cruise only it’s Star Wars, avengers or Harry Potter themed. Something that can be put up and down fairly easily, would bring in money cause it’s a short time offer. That might work.
