I have been dealing with logon issues for roughly 14 months with ESPN+ and it has be beyond furious, I'm half venting, half seeking help from SOMEONE.
YEARS ago, I had ESPN+ stand-alone and I paid for it monthly. Then I cancelled it. Then one sunshine day, Verizon told me I qualified for the free disney bundle! Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, due to my data package, fantastic! I already paid for Hulu + Disney, so why not?
Disney & Hulu BOTH told me I could continue using my existing user/password, which was the same for both, so I did this. I then took the appropriate steps to initialize my ESPN+ account and it worked fine and dandy, until it didn't.
ESPN+, last December, just shut off. I'd log in with my unchanged user/password and it's prompt me to subscribe. I know my credentials are correct as it is REQUIRED to be the same credentials for all 3 services. I've never changed them. Disney+ and Hulu work swimmingly, but ESPN+ loses its connection.
I then do any combination of calling customer service, chatting on Twitter/X, using ESPN chat, opening a BBB ticket (have done this twice), etc. In a week or so, they'll re-enable my account (they say it's because I had a stand-alone account years ago on the same email address, that it thinks that is the account I'm logging into instead of the "new" account on the same email address), then a week later it turns off again and I start all over again. Sometimes a support rep can fix it in seconds, other times I spend 2-3 hours on the phone and they still can't figure it out. Currently, ESPN+ has been down for me since around Thanksgiving, so going on 2.5 months. It is infuriating. ESPN tells me it's verizons fault, then they say it's disney's fault. But why do I never have a problem with either of those services? Additionally, why are SOME ESPN reps able to fix this and others can't?
They tell me to try changing my email address - but then that'll break Disney+ & Hulu and will be break my Verizon email address I need to get a work discount, additionally, I'd need a separate login for my fantasy teams than for ESPN+, so would be switching accounts back and forth on my PC to manage teams and read articles.
I bet I've honestly spent 50 hours on this the past year, missed at least 30 games I wanted to watch, and it still very rarely works.
Any ideas who I can contact to get this fixed? It is beyond frustrating.
So I have the Disney Plus subscription with ESPN+ and Hulu. Every time I launch the ESPN app and select an event that is part of ESPN+, I have to provide my login credentials.
This is really frustrating. Is there any way I can get ESPN to remember my credentials?
Edit: I have the latest model AppleTV 4K with Ethernet
