I'm looking to buy an accent chair, and unfortunately there's really nothing in my city that matches the style I'm looking for. I've narrowed in on this Ethan Allen chair, the "Elgin", which I really love the style of, but my local store doesn't have any, and apparently the closest store that actually has it in its showroom is an 8 hour drive away, in Connecticut. I'm not driving 16 hours to try out a chair!
So, I'm tempted to order it online. Only problem is, they straight up told me they do not accept returns on this item, so if I buy it, I own it for good. But I really don't know if I'm going to like the way it feels when I sit on it. So I'm thinking that if it doesn't work out, I may try selling it. Which leads me to the initial question: Would I have trouble selling this chair if I find it doesn't work well? Does Ethan Allen furniture have good resale value? I figure I'll lose a few hundred on it at minimum, but as long as I get like... 80% back maybe it's not such a bad idea?
