Where do you find good Excel templates?
Excel freelance consulting
I'm doing it on the side for some friends. Built inventory management spreadsheets (by item and then lots - with reservations) for their products.
The problem is support.
Your users will request more and more complex functions. And then they'll need support. You can't always provide support during business hours if it's a side hustle.
Also, don't ever accept to develop for people using Macs. I'm supporting 3 companies like that (all in the same business, the 2 other ones referenced by the first) and they're all using Macs.
I have a team viewer planned for lunch because a function is not working anymore (even though nothing changed and everything works fine when I run it on my machine). Fuck Excel for Mac with a passion.

I was hired (7 years ago now) as an analyst for one of the 6 "big" automotive companies purely on power-reading Walkenbach's Excel Bible book in one long, Redbull-fueled weekend. I recommend it if you have the patience for the huge tome.

I've tried messing with templates before and generally just build my own. Do you have financial statements that you could model the forecast from? That makes it a lot easier to compare to actual as you do down the road.

Hey everyone,
I'm lookingfor some solid Excel templates — things like budget trackers, business planners, calendars, invoice templates, you name it. There’s so much out there that it’s hard to know what’s actually worth downloading.
Do you have any go-to websites, creators, or even Etsy shops you trust for quality Excel templates? Free or paid, I’m open to anything that’s actually useful and well-designed.
Appreciate any recommendations!

Edit:
Thanks for all the help, everyone! I ended up getting this Excel bundle with a ton of useful templates, really happy with it so far, and it was the cheapest bundle I could find: Excel Templates Bundle
I also liked a few of the free resources mentioned in the comments:
-
Microsoft’s official templates: https://templates.office.com
-

Appreciate all the great suggestion, super helpful!
