Spiceheads,
I have recently been appointed to manage a client’s 365 tenant. It’s a small business with only about 12 staff members. It’s a normal Microsoft 365 subscription that includes Exchange.
Another IT company set this up, but I am now in charge of managing it.
Here is the problem. As soon as I do anything in the Exchange Admin Center and apply the settings, the entire Exchange Admin Center becomes unresponsive. For example, if I go to Mailboxes, it will not display any mailboxes. It says “When you add users with mailboxes, they’ll appear here.” If I try to create a mail contact, it will give me an error message and fail to create it.
This has happened several times in the past. The last time the Exchange Admin Center was unresponsive for three days! I opened a ticket with Microsoft. They were unable to determine the problem. It started working again after three days and they just closed the case. They said it looks like it was taking a lot time to provision something.
YES - My account is Global Admin
I tried different web browsers, even with in in-private session
I tried it outside of my office
The previous IT company experienced the same thing
Today, I just created a simple distribution group and added 5 members.
Any suggestions?
Exchange admin center
Problem with Exchange Admin Center
What is the difference between O365 admin center vs exchange admin center.?
Exchange Admin Center General Functionality Issues
You're not the only one. It happens to me too. Usually when I need to perform a message trace and I type in the full URL and it just spins and spins and spins. I wonder if it has anything to do with me being signed into multiple Microsoft accounts in the same browser session (but different tabs)... Don't know. I just know that I use https://outlook.office365.com/ecp more often because it still works more often than https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com...

My first thought is to try PowerShell to see if you get any feedback when running commands for Exchange…
Second thought add another GA account and see if it acts the same.
Even though i work on it everyday , i couldnt answer a simple question the other day.
What is the difference between O365 admin center vs exchange admin center.?
May be you guys can give answer?
O365’s Admin center is for administering all of O365’s services, including licensing and users.
Exchange Online is just one of those services, and has it’s own admin center for dealing with the complexities of that service since email can get pretty nitty-gritty and detailed in how its handled and manipulated.
How’s that?
