I worked at a consulting firm with Expedia as a client. Yesterday they announced a restructuring and that they'd be laying off 7% of their workforce, including external contractors.
Supposedly it's not related to cost-cutting but to "streamlining decisions and focusing on higher-value work," but coincidentally they have investor meetings coming up, lol. They're probably just trying to boost their margins for Q2.
Well, I got cut too, and now we'll see what's next, if they can find me another project or if I'm screwed. Just wanted to share the gossip.
