We recently bought these 2 sets from Costco: Molecule Split King Hotel Signature 800 thread count The Molecule work wonderfully with our Split King adjustable bases and 14" deep mattresses. The Hotel Signature work OK but get kind of wrinkly. I find that a zippered encasement works well to keep the layers from moving around too much. I also purchased an elastic suspender setup that clips under the mattress and these helped the Hotel Signature stay smooth and unwrinkled. The Molecule sheets don't need the suspenders. You can get deep mattress sheets if you're really worried about it, but dorm mattresses are typically thinner than what you'd have at home, so regular depth would likely work just fine. A full fitted sheet isn't going to be "deeper" at the corners, and is just going to give you a ton of fabric on the sides that will easily shift and tangle throughout the night. More on reddit.com

No, twin XL beds are 5 inches longer than twin beds (80 inches versus 75). You won't be able to stretch twin sheets over the extra-long mattress.
Both twin and twin XL beds have the same width, 39 inches. While you could theoretically fit the best twin XL sheets on a regular twin bed, you'd have a lot of excess fabric to tuck under the mattress.
