I have triplets and We had to rearrange the way we did things. Keep in mind you will not want to take your babies on public transportation and expose them to the public. They will be preemies and we were under strict advice from our doctor to keep them home for the first six months or so and limit our contact with others until they had several vaccinations on board because with premie babies a simple cold can be deadly and after watching them fight for their life in the NICU, you are not going to want to take that chance on public transportation. I was essentially homebound until they were about 9 months old and able to fit in a stroller. In the meantime I had to shop online Walmart and then do grocery pick up after my husband was home or on the weekends. My husband and I would trade off watching the babies while we ran errands on weekends and occasionally he had to take a day off work to take care of things that we had to take care of that couldn’t wait until the weekend. Also for doctors appointments it took two of us. We also had a really rely on our friends and family to assist us with stuff in the beginning. As far as diaper bag, We really got by just fine with a backpack. It was a backpack style diaper bag and only held two bottles but The bottles have lids so it didn’t matter if they were in a bottle holder. As far as feeding three babies while you’re out, unless you have help, it’s just not a realistic expectation. Everything you thought you knew about babies from having a singleton You will soon find does not apply when you have triplets. I had three older children so I thought I knew what I was walking into and I got schooled real fast by these three new little souls! Nothing was the same. Nothing that worked for me with my single baby worked for having three of them. Answer from Koharagirl on reddit.com

I'm expecting triplets and have an older child. My husband will be away most of the day and we don't have a vehicle all the kids would fit in anyway. We literally bought a sedan two days before finding out it was triplets, we had to move to a larger apartment, and we needed a washer and dryer to be able to cloth diaper so the budget is shot for now. This means I'll be doing a lot of walking and public transportation with 4 kids because we don't have anyone here to help. It's required to be able to fully collapse the stroller for the buses here and I couldn't find a triple stroller that would work with so we have a double and I'll be wearing the third baby.

Most of the bags I've seen when searching for extra large diaper bags specifically say they only hold two bottles. That's not going to work. Even a trip to Walmart involves two buses, the subway, and a decent walk so it takes hours.

I have another concern though. My son will be 9 years old when these babies are born. He has autism and isn't yet able to be fully toilet trained. He can carry a small bag with his own snacks and water but he has a congenital heart defect and can't really carry much more than that without overstressing him. Which means I also need to carry a spare pair of pants and pullups for him.

I just want to make a suggestion that you didn’t ask for but maybe didn’t think of. Look into grocery delivery in your area and if you don’t have it, consider getting amazon prime so that nearly anything you could need can come to you rather than you having to pack up four kids and going to it. I only had twins and good lord that first year just the thought of taking them out was hard enough. Doing it requires so much planning and time. And I want to echo the statement that you will likely have preemies and it isn’t safe for them to be out in public for quite awhile. Now, if none of this is possible I am sure you’ll find a way to make it all work (gotta do what you gotta do) but if you can get groceries delivered and have other essentials delivered with prime, you’ll save yourself a lot of stress. 💜

Diaper Bag Recommendations
Honestly - we use a normal backpack that we already had. It'd be nice if it had more pockets, but sometimes the best purchase is the one you don't have to make. More on reddit.com

Best diaper bag backpack?
https://www.amazon.com/Maelstrom-Diaper-Bag-Backpack-Baby-Boys-Girl/dp/B0BBVZ1ZH8/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=JVOHSEBL9TLD&keywords=twin+backpack&qid=1679677668&sprefix=twin+backpa%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-16 I got this one and I love it. I collapse it so it’s smaller on weekend outings and it still comfortably fits 3 spare outfits, 4 cloth diapers, a wet bag, a pack of wipes, a water bottle each for me and toddler, a small blanket for breastfeeding, a burp cloth, a book, and a small stuffed toy. I could totally fit more but that’s all I need. I take off the bottle part of the bag because I don’t need it weekends. Weekdays, I expand it and it works as a bag for me and both children to daycare. Fits my lunch box, 4 bottles and ice pack (one doesn’t fit in a sleeve but it fits in the pack and stays secure just fine), 12 cloth diapers and two wet bags, 3 extra outfits, and I can clip my wearable pump to the outside if it doesn’t fit inside. Sometimes it fits inside, just depends on how much lunch for myself I pack honestly 😂 Cloth diapers are bulky, this bag hold a LOT. We haven’t done it yet, but I suspect it would hold almost everything as far as clothes, toys, snacks, disposable diapers etc. for a weekend trip if it’s expanded. I just really love this bag. It is awkwardly huge when expanded, but collapsed it’s not bad at all and the storage space is worth the awkward expanded size. Way easier than multiple bags. More on reddit.com
