I was recently hacked and have gone through so much stress during this week as said hacker is relentless, doesnt even seem like they sleep! I woke up one morning and was logged out of fb on my phone which I never do and never happens, then I try to log in and can't, the password was wrong but I knew I put the right one in for a fact. I go through endless loops trying to get the password but the codes are either not being sent or theres an error.. Seems impossible to get in. Later on I send my IDs to get access, FB sends me a link which works however I can't remove the hackers code generator or email since I don't have access to the password or verification codes/theres an error. I stay logged in and think about defeating the beast the next day. Boom later on logged out, I send my IDs countless times, but the link doesn't work. As this is happening, I get angrier and angrier because I keep getting email notifs that the hacker is changing the primary email, removing my info. I even had friends log in and try to recover my account and it didn't work. I tried EVERYTHING. I finally got back in but couldn't even tell you how I managed it tbh, thankfully after all the loops I was able to change my password. While they took over my account, they changed my bio, my brithday, hometown, current location, accepted friend requests I did NOT want to accept and dmed two people. I'm really pissed off still despite recovering my account, it seems absolutely pointless. I have used a password manager to change the passwords to any emails and social media I use and set up 2FA for everything. I wasnt able to get full control back until 3 days later at 4am!!! I've never clicked any suspicious links and had what I thought was a strong password, I know others have been hacked and for some its too late but please please get a password manager and set up 2FA. DO NOT USE THE SAME PASSWORD, I don't want anyone else to go through the stress I went through, it felt like I was L in Death Note smh... I don't recommend at all but I even sent an angry message to the hackers email😂
On a serious note, a big corporation like FB should have some kind of support and tbh they made it way easier on the hackers end, instead of metaverse, worry about your piss poor security! Years of memories/contacts can be lost, get it together Zuckerberg!
The key part is that FB should have actual real support. The fact they don't and they are actually thinking to monetize support means I literally only use FB for a work group now, we could move it to Discord if we need to.
Facebook is on it's last legs with the lack of support
