I was wondering if anyone can help me understand Facebook hiring process for Interns.
I applied 2 weeks ago for FB SWE internship(Summer 2022) internally with a referral.
Now I have just received an email from a recruiter that says:
" My name is X and I’m a software engineering recruiter at Facebook. Someone internally at Facebook has recently referred you to our Software Engineer, Intern/Co-op (Sausalito), Software Engineer role. We will reach back out to you in the fall if we're interested in moving forward! If you have any questions, let us know. "
This email is quite confusing coz from what I've heard FB reject people instantly after referral so does this mean that I've passed the resume screening?

For what is worth I got a referral in early Sept as well, and I have my final round today. Extremely nervous right now.

Same. From what I ve heard FB will start interview in September. That being said, a lot of people who applied with a referral heard back from recruiters about future scheduling.

Interned there last summer, their pattern is that there really isn't a pattern. Their test bank is far too large, just expect an average leetcode medium. They often like sliding window type questions, as well as some basic graph traversals (think bfs/dfs/floodfill). An example test bank is on leetcode companies, but it'll really be sorta random. You can however expect at least 1 array/string manipulation question, as well as 1 graph/tree type question over the two rounds of phone screens.

For the people who have already gotten a SWE internship, can you guys share your timeline?
I got my referral in early September and then got contacted by a recruiter last month saying they'd reach out if I get an interview. I've been seeing a lot of FB interview posts on this subreddit, so a little nervous about my chances.

my recruiter took ~3 weeks to get back to me after my referral, but i know of someone that just scheduled their first round even tho they were referred by the same person at the same time ... some of it is random, some of it is recruiter, and some of it is luck i guess
if it is of any consolation, i had my round 1 scheduled for the day of the facebook outage and the nearest spot available was tmr (im nervous af) and my recruiter said they can fast track my process to get a response to me by november 1st to meet my exploding deadlines. so if you get contacted, its likely that you may have a speedy process!
I have a second-round interview coming up and was just wondering:
For Facebook SWE Intern, if you get the offer, can you work with your recruiter to move the offer to like the NEXT summer (so Summer 2022, not upcoming Summer 2021). I know they allow you to choose Fall 2021, but can you choose Summer 2022 lol?
