Apple is expected to relocate its Fair Oaks Mall store to nearby Fairfax Corner as soon as late 2024, joining upscale furniture retailer Arhaus in a new building currently under construction.
A leasing plan for the Peterson Cos.’ mixed-use Fairfax Corner shows a roughly 12,200-square-foot space in the new Building N as leased to a “confidential tenant,” and construction leads pinpoint that space as the future Apple Store. Bloomberg in June identified Fairfax Corner as the location of a relocated Apple Store, in an article on Apple’s “major retail push” across China and the U.S.
The move represents another big win for the open-air Fairfax Corner, which recently debuted a 12-story, 228-unit multifamily building, The Vista, and landed one of the few small-format Ikea stores coming to Greater Washington. It is also home to existing retailers and restaurants such as REI, P.F. Chang’s, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Coastal Flats and Cinemark theater.
The same leasing plan shows the confidential tenant in Suite N104 taking 8,209 square feet on the ground floor and 4,059 square feet on the second.

Looks like they have a new reason to fill up all those empty parking spots in the garage.
