1 month ago - In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Grindelwald states that Credence is a Dumbledore, and that he is Albus's "brother". However, fans pointed out that Credence can't be the child of Percival or Kendra because it goes against canon. Kendra died in the summer of 1899, two years before Credence was only a small baby, and Percival was imprisoned in Azkaban during that time and later died there.

1 month ago - This likely led to Aberforth, like his brother Albus, not holding Percival in high regard. Kendra Dumbledore, Aberforth's mother, was described as a good woman, but she was also secretive. Aberforth's sister, Ariana, had a tragic fate. She was unable to control her magic and during an episode, she accidentally caused an explosion that resulted in the death of their mother.

September 28, 2022 - Aberforth is the younger brother of Albus Dumbledore and owner of The Hog’s Head Inn in Hogsmeade. He clearly has quite a lot of resentment towards his brother, as well as Grindelwald, which is mainly due to the death of his and Albus’ little sister, Ariana.

May 26, 2024 - Albus would later admit that his brother's words brought him back to reality, but Grindelwald was furious and attacked Aberforth. This triggered a three-way duel between Aberforth, Albus, and Grindelwald, resulting in the tragic death of Ariana when a stray curse struck her. Both Dumbledore brothers were heartbroken by what had happened, but Aberforth blamed Albus for the loss of their sister, cementing the rift between them.

October 29, 2024 - It's in the time following Dumbledore's death that Harry learns about Albus's family. However, Rita Skeeter's The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore also makes it clear that there's a lot about the Dumbledore family the public doesn't know, and Credence is included in that. Unlike most of the Harry Potter canon changes made in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, the Credence twist fits in nicely, with the only plothole being why he was never talked about before.

December 14, 2021 - The Secrets of Dumbledore will mark the first time that the Dumbledore brothers appear onscreen together, as Albus died before Aberforth joined the film series. It will be interesting to see how the reveal of Credence Barebone's parentage may unfold now that Albus and Aberforth have been reunited. Aberforth Dumbledore will be played by Richard Coyle, who is best known for his role as Father Faustus Blackwood in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in theatres on April 15, 2022.
