Get rid of the angled cross pieces. smooth the panel out and paint a solid color. Change all hardware also. To get the look you want you'll have to either remove the shelf and add a new door to match the other 2 or build 3 new flat doors. All depends how much you want to invest. You also could just throw some front mounted doors on the front of all 3 openings on the cheap. Answer from KOLDUT on reddit.com

I have a nice custom made solid wood tv console that I would like to update from the current farmhouse style to a more modern style. Photo 1 is the piece I actually have and photo 2 is the style I'd like to update it to.
I was thinking maybe changing the doors to a solid panel, replacing the hinges with hidden hinges, repaint in solid color to remove the current distressing. Maybe even add a door or something to the center to pull it altogether for a more streamlined look.
Thoughts and tips would be greatly appreciated.
