There are few that provide protection around lenses area

while others keep the area around lens exposed

Common sense dictate that the one with protection around the lenses area should be better, but still I would like to know your views.

Here’s my take. I love these with the translucent back, magsafe compatibility and thick frame. It’s the balance between versatility, looks and protection. Out of all of the cases I’ve tried, it’s my favorite

I also like the “military-grade” phone cases (2nd picture). These turn your phone into adamantium, but tend to be bulky.

Transparent phone cases tend to yellow, so I don’t like them at all

This is more of a public service announcement. The iPhones 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are made out of aluminum. It is scientifically known that aluminum is softer than steel and titanium. Therefore, minimalist cases that were adequate for iPhones X to 16 Pro are no longer protective enough for the 17 Pro.

Another relevant fact is that the 17 Pro is the heaviest standard-size Pro phone since the steel 14 Pro. The 17 Pro Max is a little lighter than the steel 14 PM, but it still weighs more than half a pound. My previous aluminum-body phone was the iPhone 7 carried in a thin Spigen Liquid Air case. It was ok because the phone only weighted 4.87 ounces, or a little over half the weight of a 17 PM. It means the 17 PM would hit the ground with almost double the kinetic energy as the 7.

I’ve seen several people with dented phones in an Apple TechWoven case, which is a standard thin case. Any case of that thickness class should be avoided.

Pitaka:

It’s a very good and high quality case at the higher price range. It fells like you have no case at all and also guards the Camera bump pretty well because there is some harder material around the Bump as well as its higher then the bump itself. It fits very snug and has a nice texture and matte finish. I don’t really like the open buttons, but the camera button is closed and very responive like on the iPhone cases.

I don’t like that it gets a bit greasy with sweaty fingers. If you have apple care, then I would get this case because it basically only provides scratch protection. If you have a screen protector, then the case won’t protect it as it doesn’t have that much raised edges.

TORRAS

It feels great in hand and looks good, also it isn’t a lint magnet and you can pull it easily out of you pocket. The camera button is too unresponsive in my opinion as you need to press your finger relatively hard.

It has raised edges and protects the Camera pretty well.

Really nice case, it fits perfectly in the phone and also has raised edges. Protects your Screen as well as the Camera bump pretty well. It also has small airbags.

Because it’s made out of silicone, it can yellow.

I like the feel of it. You need to press a bit harder when you use the camera button (light tap and swiping), but not as hard as on the TORRAS case.

I’ll keep this case as a second one.

Also, the price of 10€ is cheap.

Tech Wooven

Personally I don’t like this case. It feels a bit cheap and is also at the higher price point. I also don’t like the rough texture and it just doesn’t look that great. Some people also stated that the sides started to wrap, but that isn’t my own opinion.

Camera Button works great of course.

Looks very good and sleek. I love how it feels in my hands, but it’s an absolute Dust/lint magnet. It gets stuck in tight pockets.

Apple Clear case

Feels great in Hand and looks great. Because it’s hard plastic, it shouldn’t yellow. Don’t know about the drop protection tho.

Also has raised edges and protects the Camera bump.

Only issue is the open bottom section, I hate that it’s open. Because the two corners at the bottom aren’t connected, they don’t fit that snug anymore after putting the case on and off like 5 or 6 times.

I like the white box tho and it looks great. The camera button also, who would have thought, works great.

Overall I love almost all cases, but my favorites are defenetly the Apple Clear Case and the Pitaka one. I just love how skinny the Pitaka one is, but it doesn’t protect the Buttons so I went with the Clear Case from apple.

If you don’t want to spend that much money, I would recommend you the ESR one.

I will probably also try the Rhinoshield clear one and a Bare Naked Case.

I still can’t decide between the Apple Clear and the Pitaka tho.

1. I need the toughest case possible because I drop my phone at all angles and I don’t trust the small raised bumps around the camera.

So i'll be upgrading to an Iphone 17 next week and I'm still looking for a solid case of very good quality to protect my phone well and also look and feel good. I've done some research but I'm still not sure what case to get. All the cases I'm considering have their own set of problems. Cases I'm considering now:

Mous Limitless 7.0 or Mous Clarity Magsafe: These seem to be a good but expensive option, also takes 2 weeks to ship and i'll be getting the iphone on release day.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid (Magsafe): Problem here is that for some reason spigen doesn't make the version with a camera control button for normal iphone 17's. Only for the Iphone 17 Pro (Max).

Caudabe Sheath: On the website they say that orders will ship mid october.

Torras Q3 Air: They only make the Air version for the 17 pro (max) again, not for base iphone 17.

What cases are your favourites and why? All help would be much appreciated!

P.S: Why do a lot of phone case companies not offer their best cases to all iphone 17 models but only to the pro (maxes)? Don't they leave a big market on the table by doing that? I'm talking about Spigen, Torras, Dbrand, .... Or will the best cases follow for the base iphone 17 later on?

I’m going to buy the iPhone 17 Pro next week and I’m already searching for a case. Every iPhone 15 Pro Max case I have tried that was clear ended up yellowing after a few months, and most rugged cases that actually protect the phone just look too bulky and ugly like a robot lol

This time I want something that does both: style and real protection. I have been looking at iPhone 17 Pro Max cases but still haven’t found one that really feels like the BEST case for iPhone 17 Pro Max. I see a lot of pre-orders for cases, but I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually used good ones on older iPhones.

I prefer leather, but I know Apple stopped making their own. Has anyone tried an iPhone leather case lately that actually lasts? I don’t want the leather to start peeling after a month. If there’s a good iPhone 17 Pro leather case or iPhone 17 Pro Max leather case out there, I’d really like to know.

Ideally I’d like something that could be considered the iPhone 17 Pro Max leather case, but I’m open to suggestions for the best iPhone cases overall too. Not planning to cut corners on accessories for my new phone.

I have multiple cases for my iPhone 17 pro Max. They are the following:

• Spigen Tough Armour

• Mous Limitless 7.0 in Black Leather

I can return the Mous case, but I did pick it up as a used, like-new case from Amazon for £55, which is approximately £15 cheaper than the normal price on Amazon, which is actually inflated compared to the Mous website. However, I didn’t want to deal with the customer service if a situation that required it arose.

Which case do you think looks the nicest and offers the best protection? Should I return the Mous case?

Hey everyone! I just got the iPhone 17 (the normal one) for Christmas and I wanted to know if anyone has a case recommendation for daily usage. I'm not looking for anything extreme or special, just a case that protects my phone from pocket falls. Also maybe some recommendations on the screen protector. Hi everyone! The new iPhone 17 is almost here in about a week! I created this thread as I thought that we can all share and explore potential phone cases to get for our new iPhone 17 as many brands/manufacturers have released an early look at their iPhone 17 cases.

I will start first with this case I came across on social media, which is the Benks ArmorPro series. All their designs are growing on me, but I think most of us who want a clean look will opt for the basic black carbon fibre design! It has a raised camera ring that extends all the way around the camera bump to ensure raised protection.

However, I have also seen other case brands do cutouts for the individual lenses and sensors instead of a big open cutout as the camera bump is too big this time around. I feel that individual lens cutouts can help to prevent dust/scratching across the whole area of the camera bump, so I guess that’s one of my main gripes about this case. But case in point, it is Apple who made the camera bump so damn huge, and our beloved case brands are just trying their best to work with what kind of device is developed in the end.

Another brand that is going to launch soon is Caudabe, currently using on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Loving this case so far, so I bet I’m gonna love the iPhone 17 Pro Max version too! Based on their case silhouette preview, it seems like Caudabe is opting for cutouts for the camera lens instead of the entire camera bar. All these brands are heavily recommended by tech Youtubers, and I totally get it!

What do you guys think? Do you all prefer a big open cutout for the entire camera bar, or just cutouts for the individual camera lens and sensors?

Hey guys, I'm gonna buy the iPhone 17 Pro in Silver, and been debating on the absolute BEST case for it. That clear case from Apple looks slick in my opinion, and it has a camera control button cover. Is there any other cases you might be picking up, with a camera control button cover, that you think are good??

Picking up a 17 Pro Blue this week - after a case that replaces the Spigen Mag Armor case that I had on my 15 Pro which I enjoyed. Ideally closely matching the blue of the new phone with some kind of textured back. 20-30£ price range.

I use MagSafe charging at night, and I’m on calls a lot, so I don’t want a folio that flaps around.

real drop protection also a must for me, not just “leather wrapped plastic.”

I’m fine paying more if it lasts 1–2 years.
