I'm returning a Steelcase chair, and am trying to schedule a pickup via FedEx. First time doing it, so bear with me. They gave me a prepaid label, to be clear.
Schedule & Manage Pickups > Schedule a Package Pickup > Dropdown > FedEx Ground Return Pickup > Entered the information (Tracking ID, Name, Address, Zip, Contact, etc.) > Entered Residence/Pickup Date/Weight, etc. > Confirmed Pickup. Just wanted to make sure it was done right since it didn't ask for a specific time or anything more.
Also, do I just leave it on my patio and they come get it, or will they knock and ask for ID or something?

I've been trying to days to schedule a pickup, but it keeps looping me back to the same place, is there any trick to scheduling? (I have a Fedex account). I've tried Safari and Chrome browsers on mobile and desktop, as well as the app. And have tried chat, but it just keeps asking me for the tracking number and then not getting any further. Fedex has been cheaper lately, so I'd love to utilize it for my business shipping needs, but need packages picked up or it isn't worth my time.
I have time sensitive tests that were mailed to me, my doctor emphasized on calling a schedule pickup and confirming the date/time before doing the test because it has 48 hrs before they go bad.. its an overnight package, and the doc office is 6 hours away so this was supposed to be a better alternative. the tests were for my 2 kids, myself and wife.. my wife got back from a work trip on sunday and im left for training at 8am on monday so we did the tests sunday night. Paid $300 for all of this.
The window i was given was "1pm-5pm".. its alnost 6pm and no one stopped by.
i checked my camera that records nonstop and a fedex vehicle never drove on my road, and no one all day pulled into my driveway.
i did call support and they kept gaslighting me saying the driver marked down "the package is not in the mail room"..im in a residental address btw. support was gaslighting me saying the driver did come to my home, when i mentioned i have a camera suddenly its all apologies and they will call dispatch.
then im told the will just send out someone again from 1pm-5pm for tuesday, meaning the tests wont be there until wednesday and wont be valid because they arent supposed to be out that long.
they told me they wont reimburse me.. is there anything i can do? i have the #, confirming pickup that support also confirmed and all the details are right.. i can supply the footage for the entire day proving no one bothered to show up aswell.
Just to make things clear up-front: this is not about a package I'm receiving. I'm trying to ship a package back for a return. It needs to be picked up because it's too large for me to transport to a FedEx location myself.
I scheduled a pickup for this past Wednesday. No one showed up. Called customer service, got a case opened, and received a call the next day assuring me that someone would pick it up that day. Spoiler alert, no one showed up...again. Call customer service again, and they schedule a new pickup for today.
As of this writing there are still about 4 hours left in the pickup window for today, but I'm not confident at all that things are going to be any different today. I don't want to call customer service again just to get a new pickup scheduled or some empty promise that my package will be picked up tomorrow. Is there any surefire way I can get this escalated to someone with more power to get this right? This is getting ridiculous.
