So I just booted up my pc for the first time without the gpu just to see what it looks like with all the rgb, and I got error code 55. I haven’t installed the gpu yet, so I’m wondering if that could be causing this. I have my ram installed where the manual says to put it, and I’ve tried reinstalling it.

Im using an asus rog z690-e with Corsair 32 gb dominator 5600 mhz. I also have an Intel 13900 installed and Im going to install an msi gaming trio 4090.

I’m not really sure if I should wait until I install the gpu to troubleshoot this more, or if there’s something I should do now. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!

Accordinf ro your motherboards manual, error code 55 means that your ram is not installed. It's either not plugged in all the way. Take out both sticks, and put them in by applying even force on the top and bottom of the stick until you hear a click sound. Der Unterschied zu dem jetzigen RAM ist, das ich mit den GEIL Riegeln gar nicht erst ins Windows gekommen bin. Hello,

I know there are some threads about this error code, but i haven´t found any solution so far. I built a new PC and I am in despair because of this error. Mainboard is showing Error Code 55, which stands for "Memory not installed".

First my Setup:

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P600S Silent
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E Gaming
CPU: Intel Core i5-10600K
CPU-Cooler: be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 Pro
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000MHz C16 XMP 2,0 (CMK32GX4M2D3000C16)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 TI
SSD: Samsung MZ-V7S1T0BW 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe M.2

When I boot the system, the mainboard shows the Q-Code 55 and the Q-LED is yellow and I get no signal on monitor. When I boot without RAM, it shows error code 53.

What I´ve tried:

Reinstalling the RAM
Trying every single RAM on every slot (RAM 1 on A1, A2, B1, B2, RAM 2 on A1, A2, B1, B2)
even a new motherboard (also the ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E Gaming)
Flashing the bios to Version 14.1.51.1528
CMOS-Reset

I´m done. I can´t belive that both of the new RAM sticks are broken.

Do you have any idea what the problem can be?

RAM not fully inserted into the slot. It should click once it’s fully in and the slot lock should click into place.

February 22, 2021 - fehler meldung kann viel Ok, ich mache am WE mal einen Fehlerscan von meinem RAM mit memtest86(sagt dir vl etwas) und einen Test meiner Samsung m2ssd. Sollten beide Komponenten keinen Fehler aufweisen, so wird es zu 90% am Netzteil liegen müssen. Anders kann ich mir das jetzt nicht erklären🤷🏻

vermutlich RAM oder Speicherplatz defekt oder nicht passend. Hast mehrere Riegel dann entferne alle bis auf einen. Wenn du Glück hast funktioniert einer auf zumindest einem Platz. Dann kannst herausfinden ob es an einem Riegel oder am MB liegt

So I just rebuilt my PC to clean and manage wires, and I'm stuck getting the error code "55"(ASUS motherboard). All RAM sticks are properly seated in the slots. Only one slot seems to have the issue. I've got four sticks and four slots, and I'd rather not leave one out.

EDIT: Parts if needed: MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Gene RAM: (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666

From what I could find thru Google, Q-Code 55 is a memory issue. Try removing all 4 sticks, and add one stick at a time till you either get a failed boot or all sticks are in.

If you get a failed Boot, take out the stick you just added and swap it for another stick. If that does the trick, the stick is likely faulty. If it fails to boot at the same slot every time, regardless of which stick is in it, the slot is likely faulty.

Either way, if either the slot or the sticks are faulty, its RMA time.
