So I got a "SABRENT Rocket 2230 1TB NVMe SSD" and attached it to a "SHARGE Disk M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure."
The problem is that the enclosure uses USB-C and my IPhone is Lightning. Is there any USB-C Female to Lightning Male adapters that actually work for Data Transfering?
I need to transfer photos, videos and files out my phone for space, but I have seen reviews on products and they all say that none work for Data Transfering. Even MFI Certified Adapters only work for Charging.
If anyone knows of a good adapter that really works for Data Transfering, I'll appreciate it highly!
USB-C Tester:
MakerHawk TC66C USB Tester Bluetooth USB C
Adapters:
TechMatte USB C to Lightning Cable Adapter
Does not switch from 5V to 9V charging depending on USB-C orientation. Resets itself to 5V when iPhone is disconnected.
korllo PD 27W USB Type C to 8-Pin Adapter
Switches from 5V to 9V charging without issue. Fails to reset itself to 5V when iPhone is disconnected. The right angle connection does not leave enough clearance for a case.
meenova 30W/27W USB C to Lightning Adapter
Has issues switching from 5V to 9V charging. When the phone attempts to fast charge the adapter resets and reattempts in a loop. Only occasionally works correctly.
UYOUNG 2Pack USB C Female to Lightning Male Adapter
Has a delay in beginning to charge. Occasionally gets stuck in a reset loop. Lightning end tolerances are off.
AGVEE 2 Pack 4 inch 30W USB-C Female to Lightning Cable Adapter
USB-C Female connector is misaligned inside. Lightning end tolerances are off.
LERTOSEN USB C to Lightning Adapter (4 Pack)
Occasionally gets stuck in a reset loop attempting to switch from 5V to 15V with iPad Mini 5.
CREHAO Lightning Male to USB-C Female Charging Adapter
This one is mostly OK. Build is all plastic so may not be durable. It gets stuck in a reset loop with some power adapters if the adapter is plugged into the phone while it's locked before being plugged into power. As long as it's plugged into power before being connected to the phone it works fine. It switches to 9V fast charging without issue regardless of orientation. Tolerances of both USB-C and Lightning appear to be fine.
I know that such adapters are against USB-IF and MFi specifications. Even so, USB-C to Lightning cables are active and I'd expect that someone has come up with a working one.
05/26/2024 - I think I found one that works correctly!:
Jadebones 2 Pack USB-C Female to Lightning Male Adapter
The tolerances and build appear to be good. Seems to switch from 5V to 9V on iPhone X and 5V to 15V on iPad Mini 5 without issue. Orientation doesn't seem to hamper it. It works with both eMarked and non eMarked cables.
Unfortunately, it's no longer available for sale, at least as of Nov 3, 2024.

All of my devices use USB-C except my AirPods and most of the people I know have iPhones. Are there any good USB-C to Lightning adapters I can get so I can still use my chargers? I've heard that adapters like that can be damaging for devices but I don't know if there's much truth to that.
I have a USB C PD power bank for my laptop and I'd like to not have a second full cable with it for phone charging.
And before you say it, I know that they don't officially exist as certified adapters. But does anybody online make them anyway?
I’m trying to find a cord with a USB C female end leading to a Lightning male connection.
I haven’t been able to find one so far that I am confident will fit my use case. I’m looking to make a connection between the USB C male on a Square stand to the Lightning female port on a 9th generation iPad.
Ideally able to transfer both a charge and the relevant data. But the data is by far the most important part of the setup.
Any help is appreciated!
So ever since upgrading to the 15 series I have a ton of now useless Lightning to USB C cables that I wish I could reuse even if it's just for charging.
I couldn't find many on this sub (or anywhere else) about a Lightning female adapter probably besides the official one from Apple.
Anyone come cross or even use something like this?
Saw a similar cable the other day that worked, but not to USB-C. I know a lot of people may say it's dumb and "just use a PS controller." I like the idea of just using 1 controller for everything though, and this controller has been nothing but fantastic.
Currently an iPhone 12 user. As older Lightning charger cables start to go bad and need to be replaced, I am looking forward to the iPhone 15 that is rumored to have a USB C port. I don't want to buy Lightning cables that will soon be obsolete. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a USB-C to Lightning adapter that will support fast charging? Support for USB 3.2 data transfer is also a plus, but charging takes priority.

Just received this item and it’s so far working perfectly as described. Only need to carry one cable now to charge all devices.
Hey, is there any trustworthy adapter for usb c cable to an iPhone?
Something like this:

I think a female USB-C adapter is technically out of spec. It would need to have a chip in it to negotiate charging rates.
There are a few on amazon that claim to have a smart chip like this one and claim to be compatible with PD charging. These are also a bit more expensive than a typical simple adapter. I can't vouch for it, but the reviews seem to imply that it works fine.
Everything I’ve found so far requires an A to C cable in order to charge… hopefully someone can reply with a C to C cable product.
I have upgraded to USB-C and got the Minix 65W GaN Charger. I only want to carry one cable (USB-C to USB-C) but iPhone and iPad still have lightning.
Is there a recommended, reliable, compact USB-C to Lightning adapter (price secondary)?
Hey all.
I'm curious if anyone has used a product like this and if they've had problems?

I want to be clear, I'm pretty sure Benson will angrily shake his finger at me as it's probably out of specifications (I get that!)
However, I'm a USB-C guy, Android phone but AirPodPro seem to be the best headphones I've tested on my phone for audio quality and lag.
For what it's worth I purchased these, non spec, USB-C to Micro adapters, to power a Raspberry Pi 3B+ without any issues at all.

Oh and @#$%@ apple for using lightning, cmon it's 2021! The iPads are all USB-C, the Macs are, for goodness sakes...
EDIT:
For others who find this post, I have purchased this. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001610134098.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.2bf14c4dSwh8hv
We'll see how it goes. Hopefully doesn't blow anyhing up.
Tempted to put a crappy iPhone 5 on a 65w USBC laptop charger on it and see if it goes bang.
The ones I’ve used aren’t very durable, but they work. I’ve used a ‘Nyko slimcharge’ case for the 6s years now (keep finding greymarket replacements as they wear out). It has a type c plug that even supports data transfer. I have an se 2020 that I use it with, just cut out the back to make the camera fit
Pretty sure iPhone supports 20W (C to lightning) compared to 18W (A to lightning). Apple just finds ways to cut corner.

Hello Apple friends, there's too much clutter of cables on the workspace (and for playing every sunday), I don't mind the inconvenience of small adapters. What cheap but decent brands have good Lightning to USB-C adapter (wherein you just plug a small adapter at the tip) and a Lightning to USB-A adapter, if they exist?
Thank you. God bless Apple users.
I don't know why it's so difficult to find this type of adapter on Google/Amazon. I've been a long-term Google Nexus/Pixel user and am switching over to the iPhone X out of curiosity. However, all of my chargers/car-chargers/external batteries/cables that I've collected over the years use USB-C. Can someone please help me find an adapter with USB-C female and Lightning male ends? Thank you.
I have an Anker USB-C to Lightning cable that I want to use with my power bank. However, my power bank only has USB-A ports. Would it be safe to use a USB-A male to USB-C female adapter (like the one in the picture) to make it work?
Hey so I ordered a backbone 2nd gen and when it arrived I saw it has a usb-c and I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max with the lighting connect. Can I purchase a connector/adapter that will work? Thanks!
